Concerns with Fireteam Ops and the New Portal.

Relevant Quote:

Are old activities going away? No, except for some seasonal activities that are normally removed at the end of a year. Older activities will remain available to launch from the Destination map, just as they are today. Over time, it is our intention to clean up and retire some older activity offerings that are well served by the Portal, such as Vanguard Ops. These have lots of ties to existing content, though, and will need to be moved over gradually.
https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/article/coregame_activities
Old semi-relevant Post "Bungie, DO NOT retire Strikes":
I know things are in the works and that y'all are experimenting with new ideas. Props for that and I am so glad y'all are finally addressing the core playlists being stale/lackluster. However... Do not phase out strikes (bare minimum). The wording here is super concerning, leaving more questions than answers. The few strikes that ARE LEFT in the game, are fine where they are and some are even favorites. (Inverted spire, being my favorite for example.) Perhaps bring back vaulted strikes??? That would be a more positive approach, same with removing battlegrounds since those fall under the "Seasonal Category" as quoted above and player feedback has been more negative towards battlegrounds. TLDR: Please do not remove strikes from the game. This would be a further damaging move towards your player base that can be avoided. ~Just feedback from a concerned player
New Relevant Post: My earlier post was less thought-out, more emotion-driven, while being less informed than my normal standard of posting on here. (my what a combination) With that being said, the quote as sourced, still raises a few concerns, but they might not be as big as I thought they were initially. The only part that stands out to me now and warrants a post is this: "such as Vanguard Ops. These have lots of ties to existing content, though, and will need to be moved over gradually." In the end, I feel like the wording could be a lot clearer here and makes me wonder as to what Fireteam Ops will look like when in full release. (for example, are we only going to get a few amount of vanguard ops activities in fireteam ops to start with? will it be halfbaked on launch*) If so, unacceptable. But we shall see when more information is provided. To answer my earlier post, however, strikes are not going away: Source: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/article/theportal
"Portal Categories Fireteam Ops: Three-player activities for matchmade or premade groups. Designed for fireteams with more cooperation and coordination, these will feature activities like Strikes, Onslaught, The Coil, and new types in the future. "
• Pretty sure they're not going anywhere. Reading what you posted only makes it sound like they'll be renaming the playlist AGAIN like they always do to make it "sound" like it's something new. It's just the usually gobbledygook from Bungo mouthpieces, same as always.
