I like my Seals. There’s a lot that are nearly done, but won’t ever get done, because I don’t have the energy or build savvy, to want to go down that road.
In D1, nearly everyone raided all the time, with one’s regular set of buddies…chasing gear and weapons…and it was fun!
After the Sunset debacle, the vibe changed: players bounced…things were not fun anymore. I bounced, too…to WarFrame (MR24 😎) - and after a very steep learning curve, I had a lot of fun, until it got old, and I bounced back to Destiny…but this time, my engagement with the game would be very different…
Nostalgia brought me back! But, the vibe was much worse than before…unless one was into builds and optimisation, this game was not for an old tortoise like me!
I play a vanilla game…with simple builds and uncomplicated loadouts, and I pootle about the place (mostly), catching up on unfinished Triumphs and Seals - or thinking about it!
My Titan is an Iron Lord…that’s his backstory, and that’s how he rocks! And that includes gear / seal / ship / etc. When I joined my (then, young) son’s game a/c, as his wingman, I picked Titan…so, even though I play all 3x characters now, ever since I started my own a/c, I have a soft spot for him!
My Warlock is a different type of warrior…everything about him is based on 🪄space magic 🪄 - but only good magic! I’ve used a few Seals for him over time, and I like playing him, too! He’s magic!
My Hunter - is not a slayer type…I like to play a more supportive role for all my characters; mind you, to get Malfeasance and Dredgen, I had to go a bit Ludomaniachal…😉. Lower tree void is my favourite option…though I do play with all elements - including the naughty one! 😂
I have a few Seals, some gilded, some not; some I use, some not; I like my Seals…as they tell a little about my character…and I learn a lot about teammates from their Seals. It’s all good! 👍
Guardian Ranks: again, a useful indicator of a Guardian’s potential, and progress. However, locking progress and other stuff behind obvious paywalls, is not on, imho. 🧐
If, at any time on one’s journey, one has completed Seal / Triumph requirements, they should automatically elevate oneself to such, or be counted as ‘completed’ when one reaches that point later on. It’s not rocket science! 👈
10th Anniversary / Legendary Seal and Triumphs: the celebration for the 10th Anniversary is woefully lacking! The Triumphs to acquire the Legendary Seal are mostly ridiculous…not challenging at all - just tedious. However, the one to reach Guardian Rank 8 is a slap in the face for many, many legendary Guardians…🫤
Solo, Casual players…F2P future customers…Guardians who’ve supported Destiny since way back…hardcore gamers who are stuck at Rank 6 or 7 - for a variety of rea$on$….old tortoises, like me…🤔
How many legendary Guardians do BHQ wonder will support them in their future endeavours, given all that’s happened…and happening?!
Wake up, Bungle! 👈
Wake up, Sony! 👈👈
SMH 🙄
Ease Springs! 😐
Titles, guardian ranks, trophy sheets etc in this game are so stupid. There's little to no room for different playstyles - you literally have to play everything to reach the goal.
And some people probably force themselves through content they'd otherwise never play but I can't bring myself to do it - resulting in that there's no point in caring about any of it. Now, you can make the argument that the things we unlock along the way adds EXP but EXP is the only "currency" in this game we're never short of so that's no incentive.
Hence, they should make it so that if something (title, rank etc) has 20 activities listed it should only be required that we actually completed 15 or something. Allow there to be some wiggle room so that more people actually consider it reasonable to reach.
Don’t bother, as far as titles go it’s not very prestigious, it just shows you did a bunch of chores for guardian ranks and wasted a bunch of time in skywatch.
Some titles I can respect because I know the work that went into getting them, this is not one of those titles.
