Recreating since someone had a sense of humour failure over the language of the last title. Normally I'd just shrug and move on, but this time I really think Bungie do need to get the message. Note this is not me saying I didn't do something silly; this is me remaking the post without the silliness.
So some idiot (me) forgot to do the RIft-based Seasonal Challenge during the first week Rift was the rotational Crucible Mode. And oh boy is that playlist horrible now! The queue times vary between instant match and >10 minutes of waiting, and when you do get in, the game is, without exception, a mercy. 9 times out of 10 people left the losing team after the first dunk; the peak was me and a blueberry left against a full team (made of a 3-stack and 3 randoms).
Bungie, just kill this mode, and also Tribute whilst you're at it. No one likes either of them, and I'd be very surprised if you didn't have this data. But, in case it's somehow missing, here's a poll.
As popinted out in the last iteration: yes, other challenges are available. I did this one because I thought (and still think) it's quicker than trying to do one of the Vex-centric-elemental-slaying-in-playlists Challenges, and you could not pay me to play Comp. But the main idea of this post is to report on the state of Rift as I found it, rather than complain about the Seasonal Challenge; were the state of Rift healthy, I would not have made this.

1 RispondiModificato da Forge: 9/1/2024 2:24:06 AMI'm indifferent about the Rift game mode; I can take it or leave it. Based on speculation and some short term observation: You should complain about the seasonal challenge; it's partially the reason why Rift is bad to play. The scoring for the seasonal challenge needs to be fixed, or just remove the challenge completely from rotation. You get the lion's share of points by dunking: 20. Carrying the spark, killing an opposing spark runner, and reviving teammates are all worth 1 point each. 50 points are needed to complete the seasonal challenge. Doing anything but dunking the spark will take you a lot of matches to get 50 points. A lot more than if you were getting dunks, at least. This basically turns the game into 1v11. You are directly competing with your own team. I've been in matches where allies will stay back and avoid escorting someone on their team with the spark in the hopes that the runner gets killed, so then they can grab the spark and get the dunk. It's also the reason nobody revives their teammates - it reduces the competition. A lot of players will leave matches because their opponents are actually working as a team, and easily pick apart the herd of cats whom are all out for their own self-serving purposes. Simply changing the scoring for the seasonal challenge to award something like 10 points for a win, and reduce dunk points awarded to 10 would encourage teamwork, players might actually stick around for an entire match, and matches might end up more balanced.

The rules for d1 rift were better. Also the match making in d2 is too one sided.
-
I'll complain about the seasonal challenge, it's terrible. No progress for match completion (not even progress for wins so everyone quits), fighting teammates for the rift, respawns on the other side, horrifically long respawn timer (since no one revives), the list goes on. Absolutely dog -blam!-.

Rift is the only fun playlist to play. Everything else is a sweat fest. I’ve actually played a couple sessions daily which I haven’t done in a long time. -
Two points: 1. Rift is a really clever PVP game mode. One can have really really fun can clever plays when playing Rift. Rift should be a permanent PVP game mode in the Crucible directory. 2. Yes, the Rift queuing should be improved. But please do not remove the game mode from the Crucible rotator.

Modificato da CompengWho: 9/1/2024 11:16:20 PMKeep rift but change it back to D1 version. And totally redo the challenge point scheme - 1 point for stopping the enemy right runner by yourself is stupid. 1 point for carrying to rift to about 5 feet away before getting nova bombed is stupid. No points for protecting the spark runner is stupid. 20 points for taking the rift the last 5 feet when your teammate dies with the spark is stupid. It should not take a couple dozen matches to get a seasonal challenge in crucible done

I'd play rift if it was like it was in D1... single game where if the rift was ignited you just carried on until max score reached... no stop-start, round-based crap.

Caveat: I like rift…3s better than 6s…though I don’t care for the current iteration; due to revives or the lack thereof…revive time is way too long…scores should be team based NOT individual scores…which is why some 🤡 teammates don’t revive, and hang back waiting to grab the spark and run / dunk…etc. - the greedy little k***s. 🤯 Playing the objective - as a team, is a good starting point; some do, many don’t. FWIW: I started out playing the objective - as a good support player would, and watched the greedy little k***s 🤡 play their own games. 🧐 After the match, I checked my Triumph progress, and after all that effort - little to no progress was made?! 🤔 Switched to GL K*** mode 🤡 - Triumph completed pdq! ✅ But…it was not fun! 👈 Sorry, teammates… 🙄 I still like Rift…but not this iteration. ❌❌❌ Ease Springs! 🫡

I like Rift when both teams are playing the objective

Bungie doesn't care if people like Rift. It's clearly some pet project of some higher up who said "They're getting it if they want it or not". These forums melted down when that was introduced to the point it displaced every single other topic COMPLETELY for 3-4 pages deep and another half dozen pages mixed in with other stuff and every single one was hatred for Rift. How'd they respond? They made it IB, labs, comp and the rotator, all at the same time. I miss elimination. :/

D1 rift was better, the refresh between rounds just makes it feel way more sweaty than it should Rift does have potential, but we need bigger maps Although I'll be really eager to try 8v8 rift
-
1 RispondiIf it wasn't round-based scoring, then I'd be all for rift. That's how D1 rift was, and it was a better experience.

this is literally just pvp

I actually agree on killing the mode and even tribute to concentrate PVP population... I have had fun in rift at times.. it needs its maps (not convergence!! > horrible).. and if you make it an event (ex: even Iron Banner) or give it some special rewards.. concentrate on its balance.. people will take it more seriously. It should not be out there in any regularity because of the lack of attention on PVP in general. Keep the population on something you're willing to monitor, balance and fix.

2 RisposteComp would probably be just as quick; 8 matches and you're done. Less if you win.
