"Guardian something's wrong"
GHOST COLLAPSES AND THE GUARDIAN BECOMES WEAK AS THE LIGHT FADES AWAY FROM BOTH OF THEM.
"DON'T LOOK AT ME CREATURE" GHAUL YELLS AS HE SMACKS THE GUARDIAN AWAY FROM HIM. THE GHOST FALLS OFF THE SHIP.
"I am Ghaul and your light... Is MINE." GHAUL KICKS THE GUARDIAN OFF THE SHIP.
Hours later...
Earth, the last city
"Guardian, Guardian" ghost cries as he searches for his friend.
The ghost heads towards the rubble, there he finds his guardian.
"AWFUL, I FAILED, THE LIGHT IS GONE, I CAN'T BRING HIM-
(explosion of light)
The scion walks towards the pieces of the ghost he shot. LIFELESS BUT MOST OF ALL LIGHTLESS.
OVERTIME GHAUL WOULD CONQUER EARTH, HUNT DOWN EVERY LAST MEMEBER OF THE VANGUARD. FIRST CAYDE WHO WOULD BE SHOT DOWN BY A TANK ON NESSUS, THEN ZAVALA WHO WOULD BE STOMPED ON BY AN OGRE THEN IKORA WHO WOULD SADLY LOSE A BATTLE TO AN HONORED GlADIATOR IN THE ATTEMPT TO OVERTHROW GHAUL. ALL THOSE WHO TRIED TO FIGHT GHAUL PERISHED.
GHAUL would then conquer the rest of sol.
GHAUL succeeded, he harnessed the light like he would. The red legion defeated the guardians but most of all took the light...
The end.
I would love if Bungie made missions were you play an alternate time line, I don't think they would but it would be interesting if they did
What if Oryx succeeded.
You had gone through all the necessary steps to become ascendent, and now, you were alone. There would be no back up. No Calvary. You were there to defeat Oryx, and in another time you did. He took himself, retreating further into his Throne World. This of course, would completely disable any plans that Oryx had to get the Dreadnaught moving again, but this time, you were killed by oryx. Your light taken from you when he crushed your ghost, and you becoming Taken yourself.
With no way for the Vanguard to become ascendent now, Oryx’s Dreadnaught would be repaired, its super weapon made functional, and its ability to move made once again possible. Oryx would move the Dreadnaught into orbit around the Earth, its size (roughly around the size of the moon) affecting the Tides and destroying what little civilization there was outside of the Last City there was. The Hive would lay siege to the Last City, killing all and every guardian there, as many retreated, and soon, the Traveler would be captured.
Time moves on, and the Witness learns of Oryx’s success, moving in quickly behind him, Savathune and Rhulk in tow. The Traveler was now caged, so any type of fight it would try to put up would be quelled before it could happen, meaning Nezerec is never resurrected. Savathune would be instructed with the retrieval of the Veil. With it, she uncovers Strand, and studies it, trying to postpone the Witness as long as possible. She would never learn of her history of course, but that does not change her plans toward obtaining the Traveler. She, being much more cunning than Osiris, would Kill Oryx, though in secret. She would manipulate both Nokris and Xol into laying siege upon Oryx and rending apart the Travelers cage. She would give them the power of Strand and paired with their Necromancy, and the secrets that Xol holds, they would kill Oryx, though they too would die in the process.
While Oryx was killed, Savathune used Strand and her Magic to bind and trap Rhulk in her Throne World, with a much more potent trap than what she placed on Rhulk in Canon, possibly with the same effects as to what happened to Nezerec, killing him to in the process, or at least removing him from the game. She cannot win in direct confrontation with Xivu Arath, so she pins Rasputin on Xivu. This will act as a distraction more than anything. Meanwhile, with Oryx now dead, and full access to to the dreaming city due to Mara never being Saved, she makes a wish using the wish wall, allowing her prowess with Strand, the Wish, and her skill with the Ascendent Plain to transport her into the Pale Heart before the Witness would even know what happened. All of this would take place in such a short amount of time that the Witness would be unable to react.
This allows her to commune with the Traveler, Gain the light, and with her Darkness, possibly uncover Prismatic, and by extension, have a chance to destroy the Witness, especially since it has yet to make connection with the Traveler, and has to take time to retrieve the Veil (Destorying Neomuna had it not yet been destroyed) and opening the Portal. I think this would give Savathune more than enough time to come up with a way to kill Xivu Arath, and possibly defeat the Witness, especially with the Help of the Traveler, as it’s not being Controlled or Forced to do any one thing.
This also means the Traveler would never be infected with Darkness. As for what happens here. It’s a toss up. Savathune has a chance to win, because the Witness only has the Taken and Xivu Araths forces. While Savathune may have the light, she may be the only being to have said light, but she does have an army too.
I wouldn’t put it past her to start her attack within the Ascendent Plain and sever the link Xivu has with her Throne World. She had both Light and Darkness, and by extension, Prismatic. This paired with her cunning and her knowledge in Hive Magic would allow her to create a route, albeit alternate route, to sever Xivus connection.
Xivu would then thusly be killed should Rasputin hold out long enough.
Mind you, while the Vex had been thuroughly punished at this point, they still have all their individual factions, meaning even with just the Sol Divisive, they are way to fractured to produce a substantial Army. That does not mean they wouldn’t take the opportunity put forth by Savathune to attack Xivu, and ensure their survival. This is before the Undying Mind was killed in its last timeline, so the vex do not have the same confidence in any one future, meaning their actions here would be random.
Vex attack Xivu, succeeding in defeating her. Xivu does have Quria too, so she also has partial control over the taken, further bolstering her forces. It might be a stretch, but it’s possible that Rasputin could’ve survived his encounter too, being the single greatest weapon in the system, with Oryx now dead.
So, it’s the Witness, and his now much smaller Forces against Savathune, maybe Rasputin, the Traveler, Lucent Hive, though they are not lucent yet, and some Taken.
Pair this with the fact that she has Prismatic on as opposed to just the light, and i think this might be the most likely outcome
Still though, it’s a toss up, and requires Savathune to act in such a cunning and quick manner that it boarders on impossibility.
(I forgot to mention the last remnants of the Awoken people, Riven, the still Taken Ahamkara, the Vex who will also be under Qurias Control (though this may not be the Vex attacking Xivu) and whatever leftover guardians their may be, as the cage around the traveler had been broken.)
Simply put, had we lost when Oryx came here, Savathune may have won.
