This franchise can’t even get an overhaul to save this franchise. They’ve been copying and pasting these events in year after year with little difference. The staff working on D2 is going to be a small crew so the rest can focus on the cash cow of Marathon. We won’t see any changes to events.

Marathon is going to flop. No one, and I mean [i]no one[/i] wants another hero extraction shooter, or whatever the f--k that game is going to be. Marathon will flop on release and Bungie will be dissolved, pulling any remaining worthwhile talent into other studios under the SIE umbrella. Bungie is done for.

Marathon itself will be "we have marathon at home". No need for any substitutes when the one you already have is as generic and mediocre as it gets. The fact that Marathon is in development hell at Bungie certainly does not help matters. Every single detail about this entire situation points to Marathon being a flop: 1. It's a hero extraction shooter. No one wants another one of these. DOA. 2. It's been in development hell throughout its entire existence, leadership and entire dev teams changing hands. DOA. 3. The entire direction of the game was changed halfway through development. DOA. Bungie is officially f--ked, and all Pete Parsons is trying to do is get as much money and as many classic cars out of it as possible before Sony squashes the company under their boot.

Yep, and Bungie bet all their money and autonomy on it. The fate of an entire company falls on a game no one asked for in a field of similar games which are already niche. Even if it launches in a playable state, Bungie will lay off more people post launch to try and keep those fat bonuses. What could TFS have been if that money had gone into Destiny 2 development instead of being used to scam Sony? We will never know, and neither will Marathon.
