Check that you have unlocked the helmet. Do you own the season which it was released? Lost sectors favor the gear which hasnt been unlocked first, so if you were getting other exotics that you have already, then you may not have access to the gear. A few seasons were released for free, so in theory you should have access to those items, but I dont know if there is something needed to be done to access the content/gear.

I want to say bad RNG, but it feels as though you might've elevated it to a level where "bad" just seems inadequate.
