In typical bungie fashion they implemented basically another soft sunset and people are foolishly eating it up.
This time it's these extra perks that for trials(going to use trials as the example, this applies to other parts of the game too though) adds 10 range/aim assist and bunch of stability oh and it works in rumble.
Last time it was messing with the perks and changing possible combinations. Which they screwed up n removed better combos and pissed everyone off.
Time before that was adept weapons.
I am quite frankly fed up with bungo ruining and devaluing the time it takes to get a God roll on here. It's already a 1 in what 5000+ chance of getting exactly what you want. Then if you somehow luck your way into it which generally involves countless hours, you get screwed because hey now you get to do it all over again because adept weapons are a thing, then oh new rolls then now an extra perk that actually has meaningful stats on it.
I get that they can't have entirely new sets of weapons to replace everything in every play list but it's a shitty tactic to do this and I am quite frankly not interested at all in refarming dozens of God rolls just because bungo decides to screw us yet again.
Put the perks on already obtained weapons. Let the new perk combinations and actual new weapons be the new thing to go for and don't -blam!- on everyone's efforts they already put into it.
You don't need to devalue what people already earned to introduce something new to farm.

Rusty RatI'll do your Rat King catalyst, DM me. - vecchio
Refarming is getting old? Actual farmers have to 'refarm' every year! Normally once in spring for planting, fall for harvesting! So you're not refarming, your farming! (Jokes done. Its partially funny. I'm leaving now.) -
4 RisposteJust reported your account for cheating, hopefully Bungie will act accordingly.
-
1 RispondiGo away cheater. People like you make this game a worse place for everyone.
-
5 RisposteHas stats private and a 10 kd in trials last season.....silence cheater.
-
10 Rispostewhy does farming for god rolls even effect you? just turn your cheats on for your wins like you did last season
-
6 RisposteRegrinding older weapons IS lame, but just because they get a slight stat bonus or an additional optional perk doesn't make your "God roll" weapons worthless. I'm not gonna throw away my god roll summoner just because next season it will have the trials bonus or because I can get one that's adept for +3 to stats that I won't even notice a bump to. This feels more nitpicky than a reasonable reason to get angry, because they simply aren't strong enough bonuses to trash the good stuff you already have. You gonna throw away a summoner with range MW, HCR, dynamic sway, rampage, with a barrel you like because you CAN grind one with a situational bonus and +3 to the stats you aren't even gonna notice? No you won't, at least not because you HAVE TO like you are making it out to be. Sunsetting LEGITIMATELY had us regrinding crap we already owned. This is absolutely no where near that.
-
2 RisposteThis isn’t soft sunsetting, this is powercreep. New weapons are stronger than our old weapons to get us to grind for them, which is fine imo. Unlike sunsetting, my current rolls aren’t useless. My god rolled ignition code, fatebringer timelost, Cartesian coordinate will still be just as good. Origin traits are just the cherry on top. Not to mention, with weapon crafting we will be able to get new god rolls much faster and not rely on rng.

1 RispondiThe whole game activities are getting old
-
1 Rispondi100 % agreed but i am tired of this conversation. I complained about Bungie devaluing regular players efforts for years now and nothing changes. Reissues of sunset weapons to make us regrind the exact same weapon with worse rolls available constantly. Looks like my 700 hours of spare rations farming havent only gotten sunset, they also reissue that gun now and i will NOT farm a single second for that trash. I have had enough and set my peace with this scummy company. They disrespect every effort regulars put into their shitty gacha game with every single annual DLC. Tired of it. The stupid weapon crafting also looks like a time waster machine. Exactly what i thought it would be. Having to actively level up and use every single weapon i want to craft will not happen. Sometimes you just want to throw a weapon into your vaulkt after getting it to be futureproof or use it later. Now that doesnt work anymore. You'll most likely have to invest 20 hrs into every single gun to use it with all the perks. This system will just lead into more kids sitting in the shattered throne thrallway because every other shared activity is a killsteal fiesta and people cant efficiently level up their guns that way. Not looking forward to that at all and will probably not engage with that time drain feature and just stick with random rolls lol.

10 RisposteWho's going to tell them that they can continue to use the weapons they have?
-
20 RisposteI’ll say it again, infusion spoiled people. The way Sunsetting was handled in D1 going into Taken King is exactly how a lot RPGs tend to handle loot. You can’t take any of it with you or you’ll be to week to handle the new content beyond the first new mission. Doesn’t matter if it’s a nice purple, or the most godly min/max gold item. You’re gonna end up having to drop it within 10 levels for some blue item. Now so many in Destiny wants to hold on to a weapon forever. The very thought of having to use a new or better version of it just making them boil with rage. A lot of people used to compare Destiny 2 to a game like Borderlands, to point out how little loot D2 has. Well what’s the point of all that loot if you’re just going to hold on to the same few guns for 5 years? And BL is a game where you’re tossing your old guns in the trash every few levels, no matter how good the roll. Same thing when an expansion came out and increases the level cap. This isn’t even Bungie making older guns useless. They just might not be the most meta option as others get slight boosts here and there. It’s almost like kids can’t handle RPGs these days. They use less than 5% of the weapons in the game and complain about how many guns get taken away by Sunsetting. If you never want to have to give up using a weapon then RPGs aren’t for you, especially a live service one. The community complains when Bungie gives them trash weapons. The community complains when Bungie gives them stronger weapons. Does Bungie even stand an honest chance at making some of you happy?

8 RisposteThis isn't sunsetting, soft or otherwise. I'd bet my account my eyasluna with outlaw/headstone will still be god tier by the end of this season. You all seem to think Bungie are going to release broken weapons. Seriously, think about that for even a second. Yes, they'll be a bit better but not by as much as people are complaining about. Nothing on your vault is getting overshadowed by that much, Bungie wouldn't do that.
-
2 RisposteHow many loot games don’t have a form of sunsetting as they keep growing?
-
8 RisposteModificato da SILLABYSS: 2/5/2022 3:29:52 PMI’ve mentioned this before - this new custom weapon system isn’t going to be better - you’re still subject to random drops and now instead of instantly getting the roll you’re looking for you’re going to have to grind out a crappy weapon just to use it to its full potential… This has major red flags…I hope I’m wrong but I can’t see how this is an improvement over what is already in place… It got way more random and way more Grindy - this way and the old way we are still subject to random rolls to get the perks we want…only now there us a lot more grind involved… Am I the only one seeing this for what it is???
-
Having to refarm is the gameplay loop of every MMO,D2 is mild compared to others
-
Regrind for things that we already got before? Yeah. Grinding for new things? Nah. They're only doing the first one because it's an easy way to sell people back pieces of the removed stuff. Remove it, sell it back to you later, loop, scum profit.
-
169 RisposteIf this is a problem for you, then you are playing the wrong game. You need to go play CoD or Halo or Bartlefield. Where you unlock weapons, the you keep them for the life of the game…such as it is. But to play loot game with aims of playing like an MMO, and complaining about having to grind is like walking into an Italian restaurant and complaining about why there are so many pasta dishes on the menu. The grind is a foundational part of THIS game, and all other games LIKE this game. This part of the game isn’t broken. You simply seem to want an experience that this game isn’t designed to provide.
-
Modificato da JazzyPaladin477: 2/6/2022 3:29:46 PMThis is how sunsetting should have been done. I have no problem grinding for new perks or new guns, as long as our old ones aren’t artificially switched off at some random date. You old one remains perfectly viable until you find one you like more. Hoping we are able to craft all weapons at some point so it won’t be an issue anyway.
-
5 RisposteWelcome to destiny It’s a shoot n loot
-
Your going to be refarming again in a few years.
-
2 RisposteYeah, I'm starting to remember why I quit playing video games. They're all just becoming a grandiose carrot chase to manipulate the player into staying on the game.
-
What your complaining about is the entire dopamine cycle that video games are based on. Video games accomplishment system in it's entirety is built on giving the player a short dopamine rush when they complete a small serious of goals. Successful games capitalize on this cycle, pokemon, world of Warcraft, call of duty, destiny all harness men's susceptibility to process addictions in order to prolong the dopamine cycle and keep a player base in thrall. Men are drawn to these dopamine cycles at a much higher rate, and fall prey to gambling, workoholism and other addictions at a much higher rate. It's also why the male labor participation rate is at it lowest rate ever. Likewise coming innovations like the metaverse are also going to capture this cycle for profit. Biologically, men are mentally drawn to risk, crusades, and exploration through the dopamine feedback process. Our corporate friends have just managed to find the perfect vehicle to keep us locked into this cycle, and thus blissfully docile and harmless, we get the sense of accomplishment while never doing anything of note in our lives. Bungie is certainly not in away liable for the geniusness of this process. They are just 1 more business capitalizing off of it. My advice to you, find something you love doing and put time and effort into that, maybe it's painting, furniture making, pottery or blade smithing.. Try to moderate your recreation time between activities that help you create skills, and thus value and confidence and empty time, like watching TV and playing video games. If you do it, it will do wonderful things for you.
-
Then quit
-
3 RisposteOh and if you get a god roll of one of the foundry weapons and you want the vanguard trait but you played crucible.. yeah.
-
5 RisposteAs long as my weapons and armor never get sunset, or made obsolete; I'm okay with the farming.
-
5 RisposteYou're over stating what's happening. Your current gear will do all content just fine. So calling it a soft sunset is a stretch based on 1 factor and that's to do with the crafting system itself honestly. What's happening is pretty simple. The crafting system offers more for you to do with the Originally released weaponry, it's re issued because the effort to dig into the programming and alter every single weapon is probably beyond tedious. If you don't want to go and re grind for the benefit that's perfectly fine. Your gear isn't going to be sunset and you can use it until D2 shuts down. Just to be clear I'm not defending Bungie's decision. I'm just stating some facts that are present based on what we have available information wise. This is why your god rolls don't mean anything. Yes they're the best of the best but are they a requirement? No. It'll be the same with crafting. Is it necessary for you to play the game? No. Does it do more than your current gear does? Yes. It's also the same with Adept weapons. The best in their slot.....but they're not required. If you think they're a requirement then more fool you. You have a choice. Craft a remake the way you want it (think True Prophecy having rampage / kill clip as an example only). Or stick to what you have. Side notice to everyone: If you have guns in your vault that are being removed from the loot pool. Hold onto them. I'd expect Bungie to cycle them back in when you can use the crafting system.......That said I'd also expect Armour Crafting in the long term future.
