Never go above 5 masterwork unless it is a good roll. I know it limits things but it will help. I only masterwork gear that will be in the 80+ range when full masterworked.
So my titan has chest piece fully masterworked with 84 stats.
I did my titans boots and class item too.

Are you getting the gear with these stats from GoS? I have yet to get a 70+ roll on anything and I'm at 969... Have cleared GoS too...

He's including mods on that, so he's talking about armor pieces with 58+ base (+12 for masterwork and +10 for the mod). That's a pretty reasonable benchmark for masterworking gear. Personally, I've never masterworked anything above 7 and have been doing just fine. It just costs 3 enhancement cores for 7, and that's a pretty low cost.
