Matchmaking is Horrendous
This is the very worst state of Crucible matchmaking ever in Destiny history. It’s so broken. Skill-based matchmaking is not real. It’s the same as it was before Shadowkeep but just more laggy and overall worse. I strongly suggest you test these things before you release them. This is the first time I’m having reluctance playing Iron Banner. Bad matches after bad matches after bad matches. Even after matches are getting called, the next is another called match. Idk why you won’t fix your damn game.

Yeah, I totally agree. When I first got D2 i started a game of control as my titan. It stuck me with other lower level ones, but I have been playing D1 for some years now. I topped the boards and the game broke up the teams because I did so well against starting players. Now I struggle to even get into a match where I can win a round. It always starts off as a 3 to 12 lead that progresses to a mercy. Iron banner is just as bad if not worse. I just want to be able to have a close game each time. I don't want to constantly just emote through games because my team is at 40 kills and they are at near 100. It is not fun and makes me not want to play anymore because it is just as broken as D1 mm... It's a constant cycle that should be fixed, but since they can't even make character feature customization a thing after creation, I don't think they have the mental capacity to fix sbmm.

1 RispondiA third-party app can predict winners with a high degree of accuracy via ELO ranking. But not Bungie... they'll arrange the teams into constant 90/10 odds matches. Pretty shitty.

For every time you're on the receiving end of a bad match-up, you benefit from being on the good side. It evens out eventually and then you do get some really good, close games. I don't see the problem. You're never going to get perfect matchmaking. Why don't you fix your damn attitude?

I agree and in my post about Competitive it is even worse. I lost two clutch games playing in a pair, why doesn't a third player spawn. If we quit we are penalized. Cannot win either way.

Can we talk about Comp matchmaking real quick? I’ve been playing destiny since crota’s end. I’m a decent player, not gonna say I’m good, but I can land a few snipes. Problem is when I go to play comp, whether stacked or solo, I always get matched against players from mid-4000 to full on 5500 glory. I’m never above 4K let alone all the way at legend. I’ve straight up backed out of a few matches because there was no point in playing.I understand maybe getting matched against some 3k players when I’m at 2200 but being at 1700 and getting matched against a full fire team of 5500 with not forgotten is just not fun. There’s no learning value or skill test against players astronomically out of your league, and there’s no fun to be had when three guys with 5500 emblems wipe the floor with your team four rounds in a row.

Just played IB and my kills/assists weren’t being counted until 10 seconds after the person was killed OR just not counted at all. This is unacceptable. The lag is just BAD!!!

2 RisposteNah iron banner just brings out all the potatoes who usually never play pvp and just want the pinnacle drops. Can't tell you how many times I've seen my entire team hiding behind a wall because they see one enemy on the radar and are too afraid to engage.

1 Rispondibuy a netduma. SBMM works fine if you force your region. I've seen the game try to match up with people on the other side of the planet with 250ms pings. You are actually doing everyone else in the lobby a favour as well, everyone gets to enjoy low latency matches, improving the overall experience in the crucible. Only downside is that it takes longer to find matches.

I find quickplay matchmaking to be as laggy as it has ever been and competitive to be the best it has ever been. The lag in control is borderline unplayable at times and matchmaking is so slow. And can't even chill in classic mix as all the sweaty fireteams are there

I'm below average at pvp but I'd much rather be on the losing team with a load of kills and a good k/d than on the winning team with 4 kills and a .38 kd. Granted, being on the losing team with 4 kills and a terrible k/d isn't much fun but try accepting the fact that there are better players out there and you're not going to win all the time. Suck up the horrendous losses and celebrate the triumphant wins

It’s obvious this game is failing. All the error codes. All the grievances from the community in general. I don’t think the state of the game has ever been as low as it is right now. I could be wrong and hope I’m wrong. But I am not getting a good feeling. Bungie is not capable of managing this game on their own. From what it seems like, they aren’t to be trusted to be able to make this game a success on their own.

SBMM makes us wait forever in orbit to find a laggy sweaty crappy match. And having 8 pvp playlists doesn't help. Good grief bungie are so DENSE

i had the opposite.. i had three matches that ended on a mercy rule but the rest was quite fairly matched and it was an overall very positive experience.. (apart from the occasional 10 thumbed monkeys , or the few leeroy jenkis mlg pro sweatball hunter ruining the match for everyone, who cant seem to bother to keep their friggin ass at the control point to capture it and instead run around the map as if someone has lit a fire cracker up their brown saloon)

I know!! In comp I keep getting matched up with guys that are maxed out at 5500 Legend... its super frustrating..I’m at brave and heroic and you’re matching me with frickin legends, what the hell

The real problem is... you hit 950 very quickly, and then other than pinnacle weapons there is no reason to play PVP. There aren't new weapons or upgrade materials or weekly pinnacle drops etc. At times it seems like population numbers are very low. I see the same people for more than two matches, matchmaking takes a long time, etc. Hopefully next season they will add weapons or something. IB is the same boat. There is no reason to play once you finish the 4 weekly bounties. There is cbmm. Its the classic mix. I actually play both cbmm and sbmm. I like having the option to choose from. The biggest issue I have is facing teams every single match when I'm playing solo. Teams mean there will always be lag and it never favors me. We need a rotating freelance queue or give me some matches with groups of less than 3.
