I’m posting here because I hope the dev team notices my post and maybe think about implementing features to reacquire randomized gear. My idea/solution to this is to make you must unlock every type of rolls/perks/attachment of said weapon/armor. How would this work? I have two different suggestions, so it depends on how much grind you want to collect everything. 1. You must unlock every combination of perks per weapon/armor. This mean you can only reacquire the exact roll you have unlocked in drops for that weapon/armor. 2. You only need to unlock a perk once per weapon/armor. If you later get that same weapon/armor with two different perks, you are free to reacquire that weapon/armor mixing the perks you unlocked from previous drops.
Personally, I would like to see the first suggestion. Because this would make it longer to collect everything and lots more to grind for.
How to implement it nice into the UI? (Just a suggestion) I’m imagining that when are in your collections, you must go into the detail window of the weapon you want to reacquire. It will then display a curated roll if it has it, if not there will be question marks where there could be multiple different rolls.
If it has both a curated version and randomized version, then it will show the curated roll, but with a question mark in the corner of that perk or something? No more duplicate items and a less cluttered collection.
Example 1 - Reacquiring a weapon with my second suggestion. So now you are looking at a weapon on you want to reacquire. You hover over the first question mark and you get a pop-up menu (much like the ones you get when hovering a weapon) where you on the left sees Perk 1 and on the right Perk 2. The unlocked perks are white and the locked are either grayed out or hidden with question marks. Now click on that weapon and chose between your unlocked perks. It’s that easy. And click the big juicy REAQUIRE button, smile and laugh loudly thinking about all the fallen you will destroy. Example 2 - Reacquiring a weapon with my first suggestion. (I want this one) In the details of the weapon you want to reacquire you hover over the first perk. Now remember this solution forces you to unlock every combination of every perk to unlock everything. Let’s say you have unlocked a every combination of “Steady Rounds” + “perk”. Then the “Steady Rounds” will be white with a golden ring around, showing that this perk can be matched with every perk in the second perk slot. Perks that have not been unlocked every combination with can be just white or maybe a question mark in the corner of that perk or something. Perks that haven’t been unlocked yet would be grayed out or just a question mark. Okay so now you want to reacquire that weapon. You have looked at the details of the perks and know if there are some perks combinations you have unlocked everything for or just a few. To know exactly what perks you can combine if that perk is not completely unlocked you click that perk and it get slotted into the weapon. Now when you hover the same perk slot or the other perk slot, the perks you have unlocked with that combination will stay white. Perks you have unlocked with other combinations but not that will have a red ring around or an X over the perk, showing you have that perk, just not in the combination you are trying right now. Perks that’s not unlocked stay grayed or with a question mark. Clicking on a perk that you have unlocked in a different combination will make a window pop-up stating, “You have not unlocked this combination yet, would you like to change to this perk? Yes – No” Clicking No would just cancel that and you can choose a different perk. Clicking Yes would then put that perk into that slot and remove the perk you previously have put in the other slot, because you haven’t unlocked that combination yet.
Don't forget to laugh maniacally when reacquiring.
Why should this be implemented into the game? 1. This won’t remove anything from the game, only add new features. 2. More to collect. 3. More goals to reach. 4. More to grind. 5. Deleting a weapon/armor won’t force you to grind for that drop again. 6. Safer to clean your inventory and vault.
7. Because we really hate not being able to not reacquire randomized gear...
