Randy's Quest is kind of dumb for the non-pvp players
OK, I don't know if other people have realized this, but the Randy's gun is very difficult to get for the non-pvp players on destiny 2. Also, the directions are very vague tbh. It says:
Scout Final blows
0/450
Glory earned
0/2,100
Enemies defeated and medals
0/14,000
Now, the Enemies defeated and medals only count for DOUBLE KILL medals. Now, the only reasonable fix I see to this is to make it less medals to make it somewhat easier for the non pvp players in the community. Maybe from 14k medals to 4k-5k medals as well as making the directions more clear.
The whole point of these "Ritual Weapons" was to make them not as powerful but in return make it easier to get these weapons, but I think that this is around the same difficulty as the original mountaintop quest.

1 RispondiBest knuckle down stop playing so much pve and get your butt in to pvp if you want randy that shit ain’t handed out like rice cakes!! Guess what I wanted deathbringer had to a lot of pve and some PvP to get it, but I wanted it so .... Just because you don’t play pvp or may not be good at pvp does not mean the quest should be made easier or dumbed down for the rest of us and FYI this seasons spans 3 months so those requirements are fine !!

Requiring it for a Title is a kick in the teeth since a lot of people would rather not waste time in PvP but Bungie loves thinking PvE and PvP are integral to one another so nothing we can do about it. Just keep grinding and good luck to you.

A Crucible Based Weapon with Crucible Based Objectives isn't the most open to Non Crucible Playing Players??? Please say this is a joke. That way I can just say I was in the wrong in making this reply, and not you in the wrong for thinking Pvp Ritual weapons should be steered towards PvE players. Because if you are serious, I will make the same argument back to you: Why can we not make the PvE ritual weapons steered towards the PvP playerbase? Each playerbase has their own ritual weapon that has a new one each season.

The quest is mad easy. The "hardest" part is the medals due to it being so slow.

There’s a lot of dumb weapon quests that require pvp. I’ll probably never do any of them because I hate pvp. I managed to torture myself long enough to get invective and thorn in d1, I ain’t doing that again. Won’t get ace of spades either. Quest tab is getting pretty cluttered with quests I won’t do because of forced pvp. I’m terrible at it and don’t enjoy it. Every pvp objective takes like 20x longer for me than someone actually decent at it and that just makes it worse. Every exotic and catalyst should have both pve and pvp options for acquisition and leveling for people who ONLY enjoy one or the other. But they will never separate the 2 so it’s pretty pointless to ask. They don’t understand that there are plenty of people who don’t enjoy both.

6 RisposteIt’s a crucible weapon dude. Get over it, pvp is a good chunk of this game. If you don’t like pvp don’t play destiny and don’t complain about a weapon that everyone else is actually putting in the work for on a “help” forum.

There's a rare (blue) Scout Rifle called Black Tiger-2SR that's very similar. It has the same RPM (260) and very similar stats and has Zen Moment for it's perk. Try it out first before you put a lot of grinding in for Randy's. It's probably already in your collections tab and you can reacquire it cheaply.

5 RisposteIt’s dumb for pvp players. Played for 4hrs today using scout rifles. Averaged a 1.97kd and 21 kills (not defeats) per game. Went up like 40% ish on the scout kills portion. And less than 10% on medals. When bungie said “less grind than a pinnacle” they were flat out lying.

This game isnt for people who dont like the PvP anymore, simple. I refuse to play it in its state because of the unbalanced mess it is, not to mention how ive never really liked it either. Multiple exotics i just dont care about because Bungie tries to be cute and force me into comp or regular crucible. Wanted the Undying title but thats a no go because i need 14K medals in crucible for Randy’s Throwing Knife. “Less grindy than pinnacle weapons.” Bungie and their trademark honesty everyone.

3 Risposteit's honestly not to hard to get the kills and medals for it, i suggest trying out using Mida, Jade Rabbit or polaris lance as they are generally easy to use consistently over majority of ranges and should help you if you're not particularly great with PVP (Also this isn't me trying to be rude, I'm just offering advice just in case you're someone who doesn't play PVP often. As for it being to hard for PVE Players, that would probably be because it's the PVP Ritual Weapon. It's a a gun which is meant to shine in the Crucible, that's why it's a PVP Quest Item. While yes it can be used anywhere and could be great in lots of places other than the Crucible, clearly it was a gun designed with the crucible in mind seeing as it is the PVP Ritual Weapon. Also it probably won't take nearly as long as you think. Just doing it passively and not intending to do any of it intentionally, I've already completed 49%of the quest. I agree with this statement. It is a slog for a weapon that is required for the undying seal. This doesn't make sense. Recluse, mountain top, luna/not forgotten, and Redrix was not required for ANY other seasons collections. The grind specifically for this weapon is quite out there for something that should be optional to begin with. Forcing players to grind this content for an extra nonsense seal which you already have 1 for the raid and 1 for the story so now we absolutely have to have 1 for the seasonal... uh... event? I'm not even sure what to call this. This is the only thing I really find I have a problem with when it comes to the new content.

Which is why as a non-pvp guy outside of the standard Crucible rewards I didn't bother. I don't share this need to obtain every piece of gear in the game by going outside of my comfort zone.
