Dual Nature of the Light
I noticed that some of the story telling in destiny has focused on the blurred lines between light and dark (forsaken campaign, gambit and the drifter).
It got me wondering what actually separates the light from the dark? Are they two distinct entities or is it more like the force from Star Wars, one entity that takes on different characteristics depending on how the user wields it?

They are of the same power, but follow separate paths. Darkness being a flower eater, and Light being a flower composter. One being death for a greater purpose, and the other being a cycle of life and death.

1 is Light. 1 is Dark. One is a defense mechanism, one is a primordial entity looking to snuff out that defense mechanism.

2 RisposteI think the paracausal powers of Light and Dark or Sky and Deep are just 2 sides of the same coin, they are actually the same power but just manipulated by 2 different entities, so a bit like the Jedi and the Sith with the Force I have no evidence for this, just my speculation

Just because we have a very limited understanding of both side that is warped by our own views does not mean the line that separates them are blurred, it just means we only understand a tiny bit of them. We don't know about them enough to know what separates them beyond what we see and what we see is the darkness tends to pervert anything it touches until they follow it's own views, forcing itself on others and the light promote growth but does not actually force anything to abide by any kind of doctrine.

3 Risposte<Consider it like the Mortis arc from The Clone Wars (not 2003). The powers of Light and Dark are like the Force, but they have patron entities (in the Mortis arc, it was the Daughter who was Light, the Son who was Dark, and the Father who was balance). The concept of balance would be that the powers must exist that way, but the death of the Daughter made the Dark side take over, so if the Traveler dies... same dealio. Vice versa for the Darkness.>
