I just wanted to share my appreciation for everyone at Bungie specifically the team for Destiny 2. I know a lot of folk have a tendency for cynicism, but I feel like the current state of Destiny/Bungie is most in touch with society today. Including it’s struggles, hopes, fears, and resolve. I’m certain many people might be dismissive, but the simple fact that you have an easily accessible front page dedicated to mental health is testament to this.
I’ve personally grappled for 16 long years with suicide, depression, anxiety, abuse, and lastly cancer. The only thing that allowed me to continue was the idea that as long as I was alive, it was possible to heal. To change. Despite this, I never had any hope, and every second in every day of those years—I did give up.
I’m not so trite to say that Destiny 2 saved me or something. It didn’t. In fact I saved myself before I started playing. I’m writing this because I feel like behind these screens—there is a majority of people working at Bungie that care not only about the people that play their game, but the people that make it too. And I want to say that I see that love. And I appreciate that love.
