Hand cannons are fine, autos just need to be tweaked so they actually have a use. The reason hand cannons have always been the meta is because they can peak shoot, *had* effectiveness in the air allowing for a more mobile playstyle, and have the best burst damage of any primary other than 340 pulses and stuff like 300 sidearms, so you can do a lot of damage quickly. The big downsides are they are the least forgiving archetype in the game, have an appalling body shot ttk, and a relatively slow optimal ttk at 0.87. Autos require full commitment to a gunfight as you have to stand there and take it, no flexibility if you want to hit your optimal ttk. I think they should take less flinch, maybe have a faster strafe scalar and have a better body shot ttk to make them the most forgiving weapon in that range. Pulses shouldn't really be in the <30m territory, don't really know what to do about that but that should be auto/hand cannon territory and any further is ambitious for those weapons.
