Autos are for nothing but should be what hand cannons are Smg’s are what autorifles should be but with gimped range Sidearms are what hand cannons should be

Fusions are basically the energy equivalent to shotguns, with a much more predictable spread, so mid range is not where they need to be. They need space to compensate for charges in excess up to a second, which doesn't seem long, until you're in combat, then its a huge difference. Fusions should still be close to close mid, but they shouldn't be reaching beyond, nor should they be immediate, this is where shotguns and glaives have an advantage, and can fill a void. Shotguns should be immediate in kills, with reload and range disadvantages, where fusions have the charge disadvantage, countered by having a little extra accuracy and a bit more range. Its that balance. Linear Fusions are the energy derived equivalent to snipers. They're rail guns, so really they should be massive precision damage at far range, and not very practical to use up close with that charge time. They should be more damage and reach a little farther effective distance than a sniper, because that would be the counter to them. With the charge time, a sniper most often outshoots at the same ranges because its a non-charged trigger pull, therefor anything in the same range class requiring charge times, needs a farther effective distance to offset that charge time. Each weapon needs their counter/equal. Overlapping is good in a few places to make sure everything still has purpose, and can be effective in a numbers scenario, instead of running into the same 4 weapons over and over in PvP just stomping everything, wieldable by anyone. Why have anything else then? That's how my brain thinks about it, anyway.

I tried using shotguns close, it doesn't work. Hardly takes down their shields too. Ohk? Fugget about it. I actually get more kills with a sniper close range than a shotgun.
