I personally just go in and try and kill as much stuff as I can, makes it fun for me.
I'd love it to be straight pve competitive.
Drop invasions and up the motes needed
Maybe blockers become champions?
Maybe the more motes you carry the slower you go?
I'm sure there's plenty to brainstorm on for PvE only gambit.
I love the mode and would play it even more if they dropped invading

The main issue Gambit has now... is we've become too powerful. There's always some new burn cheese discovered that goes unchecked for so long that a Primevil can be taken down within the first 30 seconds of it even being up on the field before you even have any stacks of the buff to kill it. A Falling Stars Thundercrash or the hammer cheese... new Blade Barrage buff and Tether from last season... unlimited fusion spam by Warlocks or the unlimited trip spam for hunters... These all kill the Primevil before it can be shielded again more often than not, or get it so low to the point you're BEGGING for your invader to kill them to even give you a chance if you aren't running a burn build. Lets put it this way... If both teams summon at the same time... the team who's got TWO people rocking builds to burn a Primevil down... that's gg. If your team isn't rocking those builds... cause... they don't have the right stuff, you aren't winning. It's game over. Example, when Gambit Prime was a thing... and they had the tie breaker round, if you didn't have a hunter running Shards and Blade Barrage... and the other team did, it was game over. You lost. It wasn't a good super, but it was a super, and it could be spammed... repeatedly because of how Shards works the moment any amount of super regen hit- The point I'm trying to make... is with how powerful we are and how fast we can burn a Primevil with what builds we have... without an invader trying to screw with an enemy team... you have no chance of winning if the enemy team has any burn builds. The only real way I can see this being fixed... is having the boss health gated, like some strike bosses/story bosses. The moment they get to a certain point... they get an overshield... and you gotta go do something to remove it. But we all know everyone hates that...
