You need to provide something much better than "their internet is ok". Destiny 2 requires far more stability than all other games. Simply having internet or having "OK" is not going to cut it for this game. You must have 100% stable and resonably fast download/upload and very low ping/jitter on that service. Are they using Ethernet or wifi?

Edited by LemmieDot: 7/17/2022 10:11:30 PMThey're using wifi. Also, another thing to note is that their NAT Type is switching between moderate and open. They don't know if that's either normal or a problem. Also here are their speed results for the link you posted: Here are the results of their speed test.

Ok so the 9 upload. Was that to the nearest server it defaults to? If so please choose one 2000 miles away as uploads will drop by 50 to 70% over these great distances. Mine will drop from 23 to 8 or 9 going from Ohio to California or Washington State where Bungie is.

Edited by toneDef Weary: 7/17/2022 10:21:44 PMFor future ref, the best test results will come from a test to Spokane, WA USA for anyone. If you'd like, I set up a help FAQ some time ago, I can link it for ya, if you wish to continue in your Help forum endevors ;) Edit - I did the same for HarramPolice at one point lol and most of my info came from Tuxy ;)

I've seen that and it is very well thought out and makes the points crystal clear. Thank you so much.

Also, you are most welcome and thank you! I still hold out hope for this franchise to return to being a shared world shooter that offers a fantastic story, while being able to be played with fellow Guardians, or solo. Pipe dream at this point, but with Sony at the helm, maybe not too much of a dream(no offense to the other platforms)... ;)

I am with ya. I have deleted so many characters and so many times deleted the game hoping to move on. But it just brings me back. I hate the game but I can't find anything else to replace it. I'm stuck. I really hope I can stick with it this time I created 3 new characters going through all Beyond Light stuff and just trying to regain that having fun feeling I used to have with D1 and D2 a couple years ago.

Added a part from a user that may or may not be floating around under an alt... that was the bit about those that tried to cheat and failed XD

It's a problem. Look your friend needs to do a full Internet diagnostic looking for issues. Reset their router and then clear their system cache. Also wifi is subject to interference so use a link cable but if that is not a option use WiFi boosters. Never mind doing a search for those error codes on Bungie.net or the Destiny app to bring up a help guide. At the end of the day your friend needed to have posted instead of you as going through a third party makes things complicated.

Edited by stovepipe73: 7/17/2022 10:08:54 PMPlaying D2 on Wifi = Don't do it. It is far to unstable and will never be playable.
-
Did you mean "will be playable never" or "won't be playable ever"? ;)
-
Yes thank you for the correction I edited it to reflect what you suggested and what I meant. Thank you my fellow guardian
-
Haha, no problemo fellow Guardian! I'd say former, but once a Guardian, always a Guardian... XD
-
First thing they should do is get off wifi for this game.

Thank you all for the support.

Edited by stovepipe73: 7/17/2022 10:19:10 PMMost welcome I'm just a regular player I have no special skills or anything. I just like to try to offer what minimal help can be provided in a forum like this. I just see so many people blaming Bungie for all these connection issues and it really boils down to we buy the game we either connect or don't connect with the game they provide. Bungie has no idea who our service providers are, what service we pay for and most people just think Bungie has magic switches that fix their weasel errors or something.
