I imagine for most people too that it’s pretty frustrating to use 2 seasonal mods on exotic armor which removes any room for mods that matter like reloaders on arms or reserves on the chest.
I was thinking maybe reintroduce etheric light or glass needles in master dungeons as a drop and if you apply it to any exotic armor it will give 1 artifice slot.
Just an idea but it will be a very good QoL update.
Armor crafting 🤩
Armor crafting 🤩
I can't help believe it is coming soon. From what I've read on Solstice it sounds like it might be an experiment with armor crafting
-
God no. We have enough materials and currencies in the game. I am not farming 5 red boarder armor pieces just to craft a helmet with 45 stats that I then have to play with for 15 hours just to get it to a nice 63 stat

-
that's the logical way it should be done
We are talking about Bungie here.

that's the logical way it should be done
We are talking about Bungie here.
"The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing"

More like neither hand knows what it is doing itself, let alone what the other is doing lol
More like neither hand knows what it is doing itself, let alone what the other is doing lol
Sadly yeah, too many people at the top trying to run the show rather than just one

-
Especially if we’re just gonna say “then don’t do it” to anyone that has concerns or complaints about the system?
-
Then what’s the point of adding it?
-
Then what’s the point of adding it?
Cause other people will use it… most people will use it.

Edited by Ethanshmeethan: 7/17/2022 6:08:14 PMWho would use an armor crafting system anywhere similar to the weapon crafting system? Especially when we have thousands of complaints already with weapon crafting that they don’t ever seem to want to address? Also a ton of the player base already has good stat armor, adding it would be pointless now
Also a ton of the player base already has good stat armor, adding it would be pointless now
Good is most definitely what most of us has and it could still be alot better. I can't get anywhere near the stat values I want without having wasted points. I have a vault full of 65+ point armor which should all be great armor but because almost none of them fit together to achieve what I want and/or have wasted points I don't bother with them. We will see what solstice armor upgrading is like. I have a feeling it is an experimentation with armor crafting. If it gives me the ability to get closer to what I want with fewer or no wasted points I will spend the time it takes to do what is necessary. I think my bigest pet peave with the current armor system is that masterworking a piece of armor in most cases is a waste. getting 2 points in all stats is not beneficial in almost all cases for me. Let me put those points where I see fit and that makes alot more of the armor I have in my vault useful instead of leaving it there until I get the correct combinations with the current system.
-
See the masterwork system on armor can use a rework. But a crafting system is very very dangerous to add considering we’ve seen they like to add pointless currencies and unnecessary grinds
But a crafting system is very very dangerous to add considering we’ve seen they like to add pointless currencies and unnecessary grinds
If the currencies and grind get me better armor than what I'm currently getting then they would neither be pointless nor unnecessary.
Who would use an armor crafting system anywhere similar to the weapon crafting system? Especially when we have thousands of complaints already with weapon crafting that they don’t ever seem to want to address?
No one worth listening to is complaining about weapon crafting, lol.
-
So who is worth listening to exactly?
-
So who is worth listening to exactly?
People with enough going on upstairs to realize that adding in a new mechanic doesn’t remove the old way of obtaining weapons or armor. Don’t like being able to craft the exact roll you want on a weapon? Go obtain your weapons like normal. Don’t want to craft armor? Go obtain your armor like normal.

Damn that’s crazy ig everyone doesn’t have a brain but you. You’re a god among men my bad. No one would have a problem with a good system, but when they’ve shown how they handled weapon crafting, which in itself is a bad system, then I among others have no faith in their ability to create a GOOD armor crafting system. Will it be used? Yeah? Does that make it automatically a good system? No

It does as intended. Doesn’t make the system it uses good tho. It has many flaws

See you keep saying the system when you mean the outcome. The system of finding 3-5 red border weapons then having to craft a crappy gun and use said gun for 3-5 hours using shirt chi (shouldn’t have to do that to level a weapon imo) or 12 hours if you don’t and then needing to have leveled red borders to get the thousands of mats needed and get alloys all for one gun is a bad system. The outcome is nice

The outcome is nice
There’s only two guns in the game that aren’t easy to get the deep sights for. The rest can be obtained with either very high drop rates or guaranteed drops. It doesn’t take anywhere near 3-5 hours at shiro chi. It does take about an hour of hard grinding or a couple hours of passive grinding. Which is total fine considering you’re getting a perfect god roll. It’s an investment.

Wonder if the stat reroll system the new solstice armor will use will be something Bungaroni looks into for the future. Since everything else got a 3.0 will this be armor 3.0?
