If memory serves me correctly, Season 1 of Avatar: The Last Airbender does take a while to get going. I liked it from the very start, but it wasn’t until episode 9 ( The Waterbending Scroll ) that I started to watch it consistently. And it wasn’t until Episode 13 ( The Blue Spirit ) that I felt that the characters stopped annoying me. A lot of those early episodes are about ( subtle ) world building, so it takes a while for the show to pick up steam.
Having said that, there’s no law that says you ‘have’ to like it. Different strokes for different folks and all that jazz.
