I've commented on a similar topic already - my 1st ever pvp match was against guys with over a million kills in Crucible. Do I really need to say more? Completely insane.

That's what happens when you join a game years in progress.

This is true to some degree, the learning curve is steep with old games. But that shouldn't keep us from improving the experience for those interested in the game. Like, it's legit what we all want, right? More people in game. Faster matchmaking. Why make it harder?
-
So what do you propose? A separate crucible mode for only new players is almost the only way to avoid said scenario. That won't happen.
-
I'd propose a minimum of a SBMM crucible lab one week in a Survival or Rumble playlist. Let's just see what happens. Might be terrible, but let's get some data. I'm also not living in a world where SBMM is an on or off thing. Imo, Crucible rank should matter. KD/ELO should matter, at least within a top 1-50% vs bottom 50-100% situation, at minimum. CBMM should be paramount, but I don't love the idea of Trials players farming blueberries and shrinking the PvP pool.
-
Comp has sbmm. Rumble is a place to learn your engagements but full of sharks. Trials is a different subject. That's end game. People need to realize what their skill level is and be realistic as to how far that will carry them in trials. It will never be a mode where the lesser skilled players will see success outside of carries.

I joined Apex and CoD recently and yet things like this never happened. Never played pros in those games, just casuals like me. I can't believe that people blame other people for this. It's ridiculous. Destiny is the only major game that matches newbies with an hour of experience to play against pros with thousands of hours of experience.
-
First off you didn't face pros, you faced experienced players. I didn't blame you either, merely stating the truth.

No that's what happens when you play a game where the developers don't care about player retention.
