Hi there. If it was a restriction and this was your first time, then it lasts 2 weeks. If you've been restricted before, this time it would be for 2 months. The notification you received would tell you if it was a restriction. In most cases, players are given a warning message prior to a restriction which would explain why they are being warned. See the Destiny Account Restrictions and Banning Policies to learn what actions can lead to restrictions.

2 weeks without warning. That’s amazing. It really really helps knowing I just got a new modem and I have had no problems at all. Have you ever considered it may be your servers? Before randomly banning players and then not giving reason? I am extremely annoyed with a company that treats its customers so unfair and terrible. 2 weeks is absolutely absurd for not even knowing what happened. And if it did have to do with connection like other players in the forum are telling me then I would 100% bring this case to bungie court. Because I just upgraded my modem for an extra arm and a leg to get better connection and now this is the repayment I get. 2 weeks without warning.

The most common reason for a restriction is a player exhibiting a frequent unstable internet connection that negatively impacts other players. If you were restricted for that reason, you were given an initial warning that would have told you as much, followed later by the restriction notification explaining you were restricted for an unstable connection. However, there are other things players can do that can result in a restriction with or without a first warning. For example, a player can be temporarily or permanently restricted from PvP activities if they have a history of habitually leaving matches or being reported for Code of Conduct violations over text or voice chat. Players are not banned or restricted for any issues related to servers. Restrictions are placed manually, after Bungie staff investigate a player's activity to verify if any policy was violated. Server issues would just disconnect you from matches and at most result in a 30 or 60 minute suspension if you were leaving multiple matches in a short period. Bungie does provide an appeal form if you want to refute your restriction. Please read the instructions carefully and review the restriction policy before submitting: https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049024492-Contact-Form-Appeal-Ban-or-Restriction

Yes you were warned. This is how pvp restrictions work. You lagged in game after game over multiple days ruining matches for others. These players reported you until enough reports built up to flag your account for investigation by Bungie staff. This investigation found grounds to issue you a in game stand alone warning informing you that you had Internet issues. You either ignored this warning or skipped past it in a rush to play pvp. You carried on lagging ruining more matches for others -blam!- you until your account was flagged again for investigation. Bungie staff again found reason to issue a warning but this time added a 2 week pvp restriction as incentive for you to do something about your Internet. If you ignored or skipped past this in game message it is not Bungie's fault. Use this time to sort out your Internet because next time Bungie has to step in the warning comes with a 2 month restriction. Ps. You can not sue Bungie as you agreed to let Bungie to block you in part or full from the game at any time. Please read the games terms and conditions or Eula which you agreed to.

For the last and final time, it is not my internet. I just purchase a new modem last week. There’s no possible way I spent an extra 200 for the modem to not be good. I did tests and everything and my modem is just fine. And no I didn’t get a warning. I would’ve saw it but I didn’t get anything. And I didn’t get anything after I was restricted. Just told I was restricted randomly.

  • Restrictions are not necessarily for things a player has done that same day, because they are placed manually after Bungie staff investigation. The issue(s) may have occurred over the past few days, weeks, or months. Also replacing a modem does not necessarily eliminate connection issues, especially if you are using WiFi to connect. If you know or suspect you've had connection issues, we recommend following the tips in the Network Troubleshooting Guide for ways to improve your connection.

  • Have you looked at your Internet to see if you have issues. And yes even if you have a new modem there can be issues the one that comes to mind is maybe the new modem has a manufacturing fault or maybe a issue with your ISP.
