Gambit is disgustingly unbalanced with Gjallarhorn in it. I played 3 matches today (albeit unwillingly because I want stasis aspects), and every single time, the game became a race to see who could invade first with Gjallarhorn, with the winner of said race being guaranteed to win the match, as the loser of the invasion race cannot ever kill their primeval or sometimes cannot even summon the primeval. When I played matches earlier in the week without it, the games were close and pretty fun, with each team desperately trading kills, trying to kill their primeval first. To remedy this obvious and egregious issue, I propose two solutions. One (my preferred method), ban Gjallarhorn entirely from Gambit, as the game is significantly more fun without it. This can be accomplished by looking at loadouts to see if the player has it equipped, preventing them from matchmaking if they do, then putting equipment locks on everyone. The second method would be nerfing Gjallarhorn in PvP so that the rocket itself cannot kill a player, but the rocket plus its trackers can. This would balance the games by preventing one person from killing someone with their first rocket, the trackers killing a second, then firing their second rocket from their masterworked Gjallarhorn to kill the remaining two. I’ve put up a poll so it is more obvious where the community stands.
This is even more frustrating due to the fact that Gjallarhorn can only be obtained by buying the anniversary pack, effectively making Gambit pay to win. I have the anniversary pack and Gjallarhorn, but I’m not going to stoop so low that I’ll use it in Gambit because I prefer having a fun, balanced time.

1 ReplyRemoving Ghorn wouldn’t fix the issue. Ghorn is used the most because it has good ad clear and boss damage while being easy to acquire and use. Without Ghorn, people would just swap to Xenophage, Izanagi’s, a linear fusion rifle, a sniper, DMT, or anything else. I used Xeno for invading recently and it was incredible.
