This feedback applies to trials of Osiris as well, but I hardly play it. The Legendary Shard cost is way too high to focus anything. Recommend a shard cost of 50 or less. Given how many permutations there can be in gun rolls and armor (even accounting for ghost stat mods) I can be sitting on well over 3000 shards and that amount feels paltry for the current focusing cost. Something that compounds this issue is that you cannot acquire legendary shards through vendors anymore, so shards feel like they are at an unnecessary premium when the average player has to have 400 shards put away every week for ascendant alloy.
-
5 RepliesThe focusing cost is expensive because it is not designed for players on guardian welfare. Sorry you have 3000, but I know players with 30k and some near 100k. 100 shard cost is a drop to such players.
-
I only have like 8000 legendary shards and it usually go 2000 legendarys shard every season it is to expensive to focus gear and weapons
-
1 ReplyConsidering how garbage the loot and RNG is even 50 shards is too high
-
Bungie just lining it up with inflation prices 🤣
-
1 ReplyDamn I keep forgetting that not everyone has 40k shards lying around
-
1 ReplyTip: Ascendant Alloys drop from the Weekly Mission in Throne World and from the Castellum. I have received a few of them from the Castellum. Now they are going to the Postmaster and preventing me from ranking up unless I use the ones I have already.
-
I didn’t feel it all that much because IB just doesn’t have any exciting or uniquely engaging perk combinations in its weapons. But the cost is pretty high for an event that will only come around twice in a season, compared the same cost for Trials that occurs on average 3 times a month. Actually can’t you focus Trials engrams all week, since Saint never leaves the Tower as a vendor?
-
100%. Getting around 10+ iron engrams in a week results in 1000 shards or more. Plus a ridiculous amount of glimmer. All for a bit less rng. I think 50 is still too much.
-
I had to actually spend the last 4 weeks of last season strictly Shard farming. I was already pinnicle level with like +28 artifact. Nothing left to do in this game. Except legendary shard farming. It was not fun. It wasn't what I would condsider gaming. It was grinding and horrible.
-
1 Reply50 is still too high should be like 10-25 region there are literally peeps that are out of shards and needs to do boring farms for legendaries to break down to even do a focusing, or they just skip it cuz the system sucks
-
2 RepliesI have almost 15k shards and even I won't entertain buying any. Made that mistake doing the Trials gear and ending up getting the best rolls just as drops. Hell, 50 is a lot to get a 4 shard return but 100 is ludacris. We're in the age of weapon crafting, so what the hell are we doing blowing 100 shards a pop on probably crap?!
-
I agree 100 is too much, depleted all mine going for a great roll on Reed's, got an ok one too bad we couldnt put engrams in our vault for when our supply gets replenished through regular game play, as of now holding onto 19 IB ones hoping that by the time it comes around again I can focus some of them
-
I had 10k shards last season. Spent all but 400 on the trials pulse an still didn't get the god roll I wanted lol its ridiculous
-
3 RepliesThen Don't focus. Rahool is standing right next to the podium.
-
Agreed. I just bust ‘‘em open with Rahool
-
Bump the more Bungie do stuff like this, the more it pushes us into using cheeses and exploits
-
This ^^ 100%

Highest stat roll: 64 (only one of the 16 rolled 64, the rest were lower. Number of suitable replacements for the (non-Iron Banner) helmet I am wearing... ZERO Granted, I am trying to hit a fairly exact set of numbers, but none of the armor even got close! The Helmet I have equipped stats: master-worked Mobility: 4 (2 before masterwork) Resilience: 8 (6) Recovery: 28 (26) Mobility is easy thats at minimum Resilience, I need that 6 there Recovery, I can go a point lower with a 25 before masterwork. Yes, technically my current helmet is pretty perfect, but I did want it to be an actual piece of Iron Banner gear. I actually want a LOT more mobility in my build, but no legendary armor I have looked at seems to exceed 40 points in the top three stats after master-working (before mods obviously). maybe looking through other players characters in the tower I saw a couple 41s and maybe a 42, but that might just be a fluke. It doesn't help that the Warlock 3.0 fragments don't have any with a 10 point mobility bump (like Void). Gotta say this was the crappy icing on the cake with regard to Iron Banner. Paying 1 IB engram 20,000 glimmer & 100 shards EACH for 'focus' was a joke to begin with... ...but then to get results that crappy??? Not Cool.
-
I gave up on trying to get a god roll Reed since it gave me clown and headstone at best which I can tolerate but I got tired of 100 for -blam!- rolls
-
I've lost all of my 7000 Legendary Shards, lol.
-
Spent ~600 shards on Armor alone and got zero for it. 62max trash. Final insult to injury of a non-release ready Rift.
-
I posted this earlier but it seems like a way to push free to plays to buy the season pass. To focus a weapon, pass owners need to dismantle 25ish weapons with the shard upgrade (I say 25ish because I noticed legendary shard drops aren’t always 4 but that might be a bug). On the other hand, f2p need to dismantle over 33. F2P also get fewer legendaries as they have less access to activities that consistently drop legendaries. On top of they they lack the pass upgrade that causes seasonal legendaries to drop in addition to the usual drops from playlist activities
-
11 RepliesThat’s why we have the legendary shard exploit. Go to armour, levelling. Go to 2nd page. Purchase blue gumshoe armour for 777 glimmer. Dismantle blue armour for legendary shards.
-
2 RepliesI deleted all my iron banner engrams, I saw the cost and said NOPE!
-
So don’t?
-
8 RepliesSo don't focus armor unless you really want those 100 stats. In my experience with endgame, 90 works just fine. Iron banner armor is for transmog anyway. You could farm dungeons if you're looking for high stat armor.
