I think Bungie should add Power cap as a requirement to enter Trials of Osiris

In order to enter in a GM Nightfall, you have to be at the Pinnacle cap with +15 artifact bonus; this because it's a very difficult activity and you have to be prepared to be able to complete it. I mean: how do you expect to complete The Lightblade GM if you are at 1560? So why shouldn't the same rule apply in Trials of Osiris? I'm not saying that a player must have the pvp skills, the right weapons and armor with god stats and perks. But it's something I've noticed mostly in Freelancers: people at 1520 or less at rank 10 of the Season Pass (probably New Light) who had no idea what they were doing. If you only gave players access to the Power Cap with no artifact bonus, it would solve one of the problems of Trials Freelance: allies. And this thing would not only help for vet, but also for New Light because they would know that, before doing that activity, you must first rise in power and prepare yourself well. As for GM Nightfall.

You cannot even launch trials unless you are at least 1520, so there is no way you should be seeing people less than that unless they switch gear after launching it. That said, what they should do is cap players to 1560 regardless of how they get there, just like they cap you in GMs. That way those who are not blessed by RNG to get to the pinnacle cap can use some artifact power levels to make up the difference.

        • Well realistically the only reason it doesn't prevent lower level people from entering is so that people can play at the start of a season and let's face it people would cry about it if they couldn't enter 10 levels under q

That's the risk you take when you depend on randoms instead of making your own team. GM's are still endgame. Bungie has dumbed down Trials to the point where it's just semi-casual now. Trials doesn't need a high power level requirement to enter.

            • It depends on what it would do to the player population but one of the things about the gms and master raids is that when there is a power level requirement people meet it. You really shouldn't be in Trials with anything lower than like 1540-1545 and even that's pushing it this late in a season. It might not be that big of a deal because matchmaking can most likely work it out but people with the really low levels do have to be put on someone's team. And its kind of different when it comes to freelance because your teammates can't control what your power level is.

              • I'm not an avid Trials player, as I can't find a team willing to practice, learn, and improve. That said, I can understand this suggestion completely. In a light enabled mode, where it's supposed to be the pinnacle of PvP in the game, being dropped on a team with a 1520 light level kinderguardian sounds on paper like an "L" before it begins, as they brought tickle guns to a battle. I would have to agree a threshold would be appropriate now that matchmaking and freelance are options. You never know though, Bungie could go the "all inclusive" route and just remove light level from Trials..
