This is my opinion but with 11 days in the season, earning the ritual weapons, Undying title, and over 320 in season level I only got to 953 in equipment light and I would say Pinnacle is nothing but a source of frustration, despair and hopelessness.
On a side note Valor and Infamy resets don't give Pinnacle. It takes a lot longer to do a reset than any other activity. I feel very sorry for pure PvP players. Going from one to two light was a good start but not nearly enough. Pinnacle should always replace your lowest. I got repeats or one above the same slot from Iron banner, pit, and nightmare hunts. (i don't raid that often) I understand that the pinnacle system as a whole is meant to be a carrot to keep giving you a goal throughout the season, but if it is not actually attainable by the end of the season I feel lied to and betrayed.
Most of the time I look at a Pinnacle activity and feel at best apathy and at worst dread and despair. If protection against randomness was added I think the hardest of the hard core my finish in two to for weeks, players like me some were mid-season with causal finishing toward the end or not at all.
I have play for over 1k hours and a lot of money since Forsaken and I overall love this game but if this is not addressed I will eventually get fed up an find other games to play. I play games for enjoyment, community, a sense of accomplishment, or entertainment. If all I start getting Is anger, frustration, dread, despair, and betrayal I would be a masochistic to stay
Sincerely,
GenMagus
