*SPOILER ALERT* What is with the story lately??
How did you go from Final Shape, to basically a soap opera rated for mature audiences? I mean seriously an entire Epilogue quest to do the same mission again, but this time we get to hear cringy, lovey dovey conversations between Maya and Chioma. Did you just let the fanfic writers go all out in this one? Is this the kind of writing we are to expect with the coming Episodes? Or are you going to finally set this game toward a darker tone like it was always meant to be. Ffs you have such an amazing collection of lore entries that have never been touched upon and this is what you pick? You even failed to capture how dark the things Maya was doing to Chioma were, because you kept on talking about love. I don’t want the next Episode to be all about how much Crow misses Amanda Holiday, and how much he loved her. Get. Good. Writers.

Lately? This is ancient at this point. If it is new to you I get it. But most people need to grow up already about it. Not in liking it if they don’t, but in either play the game or move on. Destiny the game has been bad for a long time. The story even longer.

4 RepliesThey were doing so well - the dark, twisted turn they'd taken with Maya murdering Chioma over and over and over in search of 'perfection' was getting really interesting, and mapping out a potentially great 'Predestination Paradox' storyline and then... nothing. I'm pretty sure if you look up 'anticlimactic' in the dictionary, it has a link to that cutscene. To hell with spoilers - you're doing people a favour saving them from that. Maya has a sneering villain victory moment (infused with zero peril), then 'when all seems' lost, Saint-14 discovers 'the power of love' (like a Scott Pilgrim rip-off) and takes her out with a shield throw (clearly having never used one in the game because he'd be more likely to accidentally smack Ikora in the mouth with it). Maya then melts into the radiolaria she's been comfortably standing in this whole time and we cut to a 'she's gone, but she'll be back' panoramic shot Fade to black, thanks for coming to our school play, now go run the exotic mission YET AGAIN... FFS What makes this worse is that this entire design was in place BEFORE the layoffs, so God alone knows what they'll do next...

Nah in the next episode variks comes back and he’s married taniks and they having a baby fallen and it’s gonna be kidnapped by Eramis and we have to sit through the we are in love cutscene again only with different characters superimposed over saint and Osiris.

Yeah I haven’t bothered to progress the seasonal story much because I’m just not interested in hearing yet again about how much Saint and Osiris are in love. I didn’t care for it when it first happened and I didn’t care any other time it appeared afterward.

I have to admit I did wonder to myself, what did we do actually do here?? If we did absolutely nothing, would we have achieved the same result?? Aside from unlocking failsafe and building a little collection for her. Is there no panic that the echo of command is in the vex network? That's just one echo, where are the other 'echoes'? Maybe the other echoes are less impactful... echo of loving cheese, or echo of surreal artistry??

just let it die! if you follow what's happening with games that have a lot of 🏳️🌈 people are tired and don't buy it... have you seen Ubisoft's situation? Have you heard about Concord? I can go on for a very long time! now let's start with the positive examples of The First Descendant, Wukong that rejected sweetbaby, Stellarblade!! They all criticized these games so much that they sold out in incredible numbers and received high marks from the community who are tired of all this propaganda!! Games have always been made for entertainment and for what you can't do in real life!! just wait and make the right choice!! 🙅🏻♂️🏳️🌈

Yeah the one sided love stories are getting old, but at least this one was a little more darker and the final cutscene was pretty cool, unlike that cry baby wishy washy Osiris and Saint story
