While there are many places you could have used infinite ammo swords, the most important place to abuse infinite ammo swords would be to farm grandmaster nightfalls. Obviously the amount of loot such as ascendant shards or exotics is nice, but there is overall a minimal incentive to actually play since a large amount of players don’t even need those materials or better exotic rolls anymore. There was nothing to really do with infinite ammo swords after that initial point of “wow that’s so cool that I can spam heavy attacks.” If there was an actual end goal to achieve, it would be cool to use swords, but there was nothing to do this week. I would love to see an event like this return with there actually being a reason to play the game.

I miss using my sword to load up my microcosm. That was a nice bonus.
-
“There’s nothing to do” yeah it’s because you’ve beaten the game my guy, come back when there’s a content drop

5 RepliesDude, everyone loved sword week. To say it was a flop is dead wrong.
-
Nah, it was something different to change things up a bit- which I personnal liked about it.
-
I had a blast, I hope they do something similar again and next time allow it in dungeons too.
-
I enjoyed it, for what it was. Made GMs go by better, faster and more fun, for me.
-
2 RepliesNope. It was genuinely fun and we need more of it.
-
No way, it was actually pretty fun. Got to just spam exotic swords constantly. I wish they upped the amount of Sword-themed seasonal challenges that week to make it a sort of mini-event, but that’s about it. But to say it was a flop is kinda crazy

There was an infinite ammo sword week? I really have to start reading those blurbs.
-
I thought the point was to imitate The Craftening and make it available for all modes. I didn’t reinstall…

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 9/11/2024 10:35:30 PMIt’s a neat little concept and I bet we’ll see similar things in the future, but it not being active in raids/dungeons disincentived it for me. That’s all that’s worth playing post story content aside from GMs which I don’t need anything from. Even then dungeon weapon farming is SO bad and stingy that no one in my clan/friends wants to run them anyway.

6 RepliesNah, brah. I think it was fun and I'm hoping they do something similar again, hopefully on a regular basis. I'd like to see them give us a buffed exotic primary or special for a week or another heavy with infinite ammo. Something stupid like +500% damage to Rat King for a week, that's be awesome.
-
I think the event was a cool idea and I’d like to see it more often. Maybe a monthly event with different weapons. But only in PvE (no gambit). Maybe one week with infinite Rockets, or straight up infinite heavy. Maybe a mayhem mode where you get supers way faster (pretty sure we had something like that in D1 towards the end).

3 RepliesMelting stuff with 1K was the most fun I've had since The Craftening. Both unintended. What does that say for the game?
-
It made everything it was enabled in a cake walk for that week, especially if you had 1K. It was good for farming the materials, it was good for farming coins since Xur was selling the class items, and it just added a fun level of chaos to other activities. Hell, if it were enabled in raids, dungeons, or excision, you know as well as I do that people would've gone in and just breezed through them for exotics, adepts, artifice armor, and catalysts.
-
I had a lot of fun with 1K and the sniper was the adept, which gave me the same rolls all the time lmao…
-
Should have made it apply to dungeons and raids like the Craftening… But I guess they wanted to have to ‘tegrity this time around
-
Ik. My favorite Sword.
-
As my grandma used to say... "Throwing crap on the wall to see what sticks". Basically what the whole sword ammo deal was.
-
1 Reply
You decided to make the adept shadow price, which had a perk pool so bad that there is essentially not a good roll in PvP or PvE.
That was the week before I believe. This week was the solar sniper

It could be a sign of things to come that Bungie isn't telling us about yet. Maybe, anyway.
