The game has lost its identity. TFS expansion was the final straw for many players.
Only the diehards and addicted continue to support the franchise nowadays.
Everybody else has seen what a failure this franchise has become and has moved on.

The real question is “did it ever have an identity?” I mean it kept constantly changing terms of what the game is supposed to be, and direction so often, that I really don’t think it ever had real identity or vision.

It was supposed to be an MMO FPS. At least that was the original idea, and why a lot of MMO enjoyers hopped on when it first released.

? Up until like 2 or 3 years ago. Bungie made it a point to never call or refer to destiny as an mmo.
