Bungie needs to do something about bringing destabilization rounds and voltshot in line more with incandescent. Voltshot requires a reload and destabilization rounds has a cool down. To me they should all be equal in producing and in damage.
But Bungie has way more important things to worry about right now.

I think you mean you want them to make incandescent stronger. Bring volt shot and volatile rounds to incandescent levels would make them both weaker than they are at the moment.
-
That's a putrid opinion. Incandescent is significantly better than destabilizing rounds and marginally better than voltshot.
-
That's objectively false when the best sidearm has volt shot on it & is being used far more often... so maybe it's your opinion that's putrid. I prefer incandescent but it isn't stronger than volt shot or volatile rounds
-
1 comparing volatile rounds and incandescent makes no sense. One is a perk, the other is a player buff. They are not comparable. Incandescent vs destabilizing rounds is the comparison you should make. And incandescent is better by far. 2 or 3 volatile explosions that destabilizing rounds usually cause aren't much and require further shots to actually use. 2 you're looking at 1 weapon type. I can also do that. Top players prefer Nullify to corrosion. Despite corrasion's better origin trait and voltshot, Nullify with incand/firefly is preferred. No hesitations with physic/incand is the best auto rifle at the moment. Martyrs retribution will make a joke of undercurrent when it comes out as the first incandescent wave frame. Like I said destabilizing sucks, voltshot and incand are good with incand being slightly better to me.
-
Nah you're absolutely right I was conflating the two. I was thinking destabilizing rounds but was focused on volatile rounds which is a player buff like you said. Destabilizing is terrible & needs a buff. Voltshot is the strongest out of those 3 damage perks. Like you I prefer incandescent specifically because I run solar prismatic most of the time. That's my bad.
-
You're good don't worry too much about it. No harm no foul and all that. I do personally think that incand is better since it's more instant and can cause ingnitions in the right situation, but I can absolutely agree that there's an argument to voltshot being stronger. Either way, they're both some of the best perks in the game.
-
Definitely two of the best for sure. I love seeing things ignite lol I play enough to where my mind shouldn't brain fart when it comes to the difference between volatile & destabilizing rounds 🤣 volatile has a place in endgame destabilizing doesn't. Incandescent & voltshot easily have that beat.

Not really the strength, more so activation and cool downs.

Edited by Zoidberg: 8/9/2024 2:07:16 AMVoltshot is still superior for me. Tagging the high health target to kill all the little ones is how I prefer. Incandescent is working in reverse of that. On top of this, voltshot could be adding to dps phases potentially. I'll agree with destabilizing rounds. They are -blam!-. If destabilizing and repulser were one perk, it would be equivalent.
-
I think Destabilizing needs a little more juice. They dropped the cooldown from 3s to 2s at some point. Voltshot however is definitely the best though. Good add-clear and single target damage, stuns Overload champs, and has the largest effect radius. Incandescent is a solid perk, but really needs you to be running solar for it to be worth it on most guns. The Scorch damage is mid at best. So you either want it on powerful add-clear weapons (rocket sidearms, Trace rifles, future wave/Area GLs, Machine Guns, Nullify, or weapons that can pair it with a damage perk like Zaouli) that can trigger ignitions in time, or you need solar (also prismatic hunter) in order to have it interact with builds. Destabilizing has better damage and comparable build-craft interactions. It just needs either a further reduced timer or a larger effect blast. :)

removed completely, the cooldown is not needed.
-
Volt shot does more damage than incandescent, plus it is also intrinsically anti overload, incandescent has no anti champ, plus the damage is not that significant, voltshot doesn't need a buff, destabilizing rounds however could use a buff
-
The problem I have with volt shot is that it activates at the start of the reload animation and not after which is undermined by the fact that more than half the guns that roll with this mod have long reload speeds and with these guns by the time you finish reloading you barely have enough time left on volt shot to fire at a single enemy.
-
I figured the point of Incandescent is to build burns amongst groups of enemies to get an eruption. It works well that that.
-
I find that oftentimes, i just kill all the enemies before they can stack enough for an ignition, even in higher tier content
-
But the explosions. Explosions are cool ..... Right?
-
And destabilizing rounds has the explosions.
