Buff instead of add.

Could we please just buff the Exotic weapons and armor that we currently got, instead of just adding new mediocre and forgettable ones ? We have so many weapons and armor pieces that we can go for a long time without needing a new one. Rework some and buff others. I mean seriously, what is the point of them adding new weapons and armor, if we aren't going to use them any way ? Don't kid yourselves, This is what we need. 138 Exotic weapons and 141 armor pieces. This is clearly enough to last for a long time. The thing is that not all of these are being used, not even close. We could easily remove a couple and rework others to make them more unique and worthy of the Exotic slot. Do we seriously need an exotic for a specific grenade ? Do we need an exotic to buff reload speed ? Do we need an exotic an exotic to increase our movement speed. NO WE DON'T. Infuse some armor pieces with each other and cut down on the amount we have and will get. Make them more flexible, give them more utility and have them serve more purpose than just buffing one specific thing. Weapons are equally as bad. So many of them has nothing special about them. It is either just some combinations you can't get on Legendary or it has 3 perks instead of 2. There are so many that are just outdated and power crept because of that. So could we please focus on fixing what we have instead of adding more problems ?

  • I really want Vex to have some sort of scorch or even better, allow the linear fusion mode to ignite on precision hits. Euphony needs a big damage buff at max stacks and lower the number from 25 to 15. You barely get 1 shot if you even make it to 25 before the boss is immune, champ is unstunned, teammates insta gib the target, ect ect. The thing even sucks with Sanguine Alchemy and that exotic makes most guns very good.

    • LOL I like when a conversation on a previous thread results in a new thread and the very same topic. There's loads of issues at play. One of the primary problems are the Exotic Class Items on Prismatic. They overshadow Exotics that would otherwise see use. Another issue is exactly what you stated- Exotics that tied into buffing a singular ability. Let me give a few of these that are done right. Peregrine's Nothing Manacles Ashen Wake Gifted Conviction These Exotics effectively revolve around one ability, yet they are still potent given how they are designed. Then we have others that are straight up garbage- Hoarfrost Z Skull of Dire Ahamkara Caliban's Hand The disparity of these vs the aforementioned is tremendous. All it proves is that single ability Exotics can be corrected and effective when designed or reworked with some modicum of effort. As far as weapons are concerned, Primaries across the board need a buff. Doesn't help they are the bulk of Exotics in the game. In general they are absolute trash in this sandbox, which maligns the majority of the loot pool in general. Sure I'm excited about my new Reghusk's Pledge, but the reality is it just will rot in my Vault when it comes to any meaningful content. Buffing Primaries is the starting point. After that we need to dive into reworks for numerous Exotics. We have a multitude of Legendaries outperforming them at an obnoxious level. And it's intentional. To keep us on the hamster wheel.

      • More players will complain about getting nothing new than exotics not getting buffed or reworked. Besides, this is 2, technically 4 seasons in a row we didn't even get a new catalyst (up until EOF, every reward pass was the length of one season/ episode), and we're still behind like another 4-6 if we include delays/ extended seasons and episodes that all went 90 days or longer. The problem with various exotics is that many are niche choices like Foetracer, some are made unnecessary due to weapon choice like Knucklehead Radar and if you're using Mida or Ace, and weapons just got power crept into oblivion for like 90% of them, suffered nerfs that are no longer valid (some multiple times over), or the archetypes are in bad spots. To give a small number of examples: * What is Ace going to offer me that won't already be matched or exceeded by Fatebringer or Eyasluna in the June update? They can both match or go beyond it's range, they have more aim assist, and can have like 80% more stability. And that theoretically permanent Kill Clip doesn't mean much now that the resilience changes in EOF nerfed it so it can't 1 crit 2 body. * That same question can be applied to Thorn. Constant ghost rounds on it, chunky model, sights that can blend in to backgrounds more than other weapons, and those resilience changes also removed it's 2 crit 1 body at base and it's 2 tap while buffed. Base Thorn is just a delayed precision instrument that doesn't help beyond an artificial range extension, and buffed is a delayed Kill Clip that kills slower than Kill Clip unless you get the 3 crits, which renders the buff worthless at that point, especially when you have to run over out in the open to pick it up. * Crimson still suffers more fall off than any other hand cannon except Last Word. That 97 stability doesn't mean much when it's a 3 round burst 120 or 140 and has such insanely low recoil direction compared to the actual burst fire hand cannon archetype. You can more consistently land full bursts to the head at 38 meters with a 2 burst that has 30 less stability and 10 less aim assist than you can at 28 meters with Crimson. * Tarrabah compared to almost any SMG with target lock or Elemental Honing? I don't need to be told that some weapons are designed more for PvE or pvp in mind, but the point still stands. It's only advantage over other 720s in pvp until you get Ravenous Beast going is that it has 1 more AA than the best legendary 720 at the cost of having on average 12-22 less range and 10-30 less stability before Field Testing kicks in. * No Time To Explain. Revision Zero exists, need I say more? And as POTENTIALLY deadly as 340s are, no one uses them because not landing those 6 crits in a row will butcher your ttk and they have the lowest AA of all pulse rifle frames. * Skyburner's Oath. There's at least 4 other exotic energy weapons that have higher DPS, can ignite enemies significantly faster, and it's only other use outside of shooting through cabal shield domes is beaten by anything with anti barrier. So aside from reworks for many, the most they can do is stat buffs. And frankly, I'd say stat buffs should happen anyway when we consider all the complete stat monsters and killing machines they keep releasing like just this season alone; basically all the heat weapons, the trials weapons, Mos Athanor, and all the raid and dungeon weapons in June. What could giving Ace for example another 5-15 aim assist and 20-40 more stability going to break that can't or isn't already being broken by like a dozen other hand cannons? Nothing is the correct answer to that question.

We have so many exotics that I find it pointless that we are still only allowed to use one per weapon and armor. The game should just go all out and let us whatever exotics we want. F the balance, this game has been a mess for years. Bungie can instead release a new tier above exotic, mythic tier or divine. Make only like 5 for each class and thats it. Make those exclusive to raids. 3 strictly for pve and 2 for pvp for each class. They can hold 5 exotic slots in one and will allow players to allocate stats however they see fit on it.
