Sometimes staying alive is doing your team a service, even if you don't revive, don't sweat it man The guardian games are fun, and a little competitive, the issue you speak of, has existed for a good while now, it's not new, it was there at least since before heresy There is this dark mentality that has gripped many of the players in this game, I don't know where that came from

  • Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what games you are talking about but no, I'm not talking about who got the most kills in the old games (will come back to this)...this game, what is being played now, the point system is much worse - is only about who does the most boss DPS. That is not a team benefit as your 1%, 10% is dependent on the speed of killing the bosses. The old games included the boss DPS, true - but unlike the new games, emoting before you do a finisher, precision kills, revives...it took a lot of work to keep the team alive and get your own accumulation of points - and the one that did that best... But today, the only score I see is boss DPS. If I didn't kill the adds, revive, etc. my team wouldn't survive, and I tested this theory, well, only once but still - I just watched, did nothing. Sure enough, two guys didn't kill ads, wouldn't revive others, only went after the bosses. Even had one player say something rather derogatory about the fact I did nothing. Of course, it wasn't to spite them, but to see if their sociopathic actions hurt or benefited the group. We all died. Conclusion - the whole team should be looking after each other to survive as PVE is only a survival game - the point system is not. Then I played another game, this time I did nothing but add clear, revives, giving shields (void titan), making a crap ton of orbs for them, giving ALOT of armour charges... I didn't get anything but the lowest score. So yes, the point system has completely changed for the worse. You see, the one thing I learned about raids - is that many times you have one guys that is in it for his glory, he shows off his " skill " and no one really cares. This same player gets pissed off when other players die, don't hit their objectives, etc. - No one likes playing with them. Then you have players that I grew up with, they try hard to do their part, but help others when they slack off. They do not get pissed off at the few times the team dies...maybe later on if the team just can't get their -blam!- together, but all in all - they will revive other players instead of waiting for you to self revive, help others...the game is much better that way. I got really good at this. With my friends, we could 4-man almost any raid cause we knew what we were doing and depended on them to completely do their share, but when we carried one guy, at most 2 for a 6 man raid, we never got upset, we explaiend simply, let them talk, answered their questions and put them in situations to demostarte wwhat they leraned. After the win, these guys would tell our team that they were very grateful, that this is the bet team they had ever played with. It was simple; no one got mad...it was fun. So maybe I expect more from a game that depended on team effort to gain points, and while some of us attained these points better than others, it was not solely based on Boss DPS. So tonight, I will be the sociopath. I will only focus on boss DPS so I can get my 10%. I won't care about revives, or add clearing - I can do that because I understand the mechanics like many others. But for me, like mentoned in this feedback, it will not be fun. For attaining something doesn't afford one happiness, fulfilment, or bliss, but the journey, the experience of that attainment does. Now I do not blame or have any emotion toward how others play their game. But Destiny's psychology, how to 'win' those games, is the point. It doesn't take a good player to hit a boss with a golden gun, with a bit of high kenitic damage Microcosm, or with added arc damage Thunderlord to destroy a boss. But remember the old raids, the old GM's, the games that made you feel good when a team worked hard to win something that was rather difficult, not when you get a title. When the team, after it won a raid would talk about how that guy was smart of do that thing, and that other player saved the team from a simple decision, and that other guy, crap - he was lucky - he got the new exotic, Good for him!! In the old games, we talked about how hard the Lightblade GM was in the Guardian games. The new ones...my friends aren't even playing destiny for they say the same thing. "Yeah, I got my 10%, but I'm bored...playing Battlefield now or Warframe...hey, you should join us...!" Sad. That was what I was trying to communicate to Bungie. I apparently failed. Well, you can't change everything...

I hear you, and you have a valid point, but things change What I was trying to say, is that it is competitive by nature, you can still be mindful of the team, and I do take notice when my team mates are being -blam!- bags, and consider me like a sack of vegetables, and don't bother to look out for me, but many aren't like that The goal right now is to mow down bosses, a kind of prep for pantheon 2.0 As for revives, sometimes it is dangerous to attempt a revive, so avoiding being killed can be more valuable, if one is the last man standing, or the whole boss fight resets, and all the effort is wasted, but that's not the issue you mean I'm just saying it can still be fun, I think you are too focused on a certain thing, and are displeased that it is not the way you think it should be, I feel like that also during gameplay when encountering certain things, but you can still enjoy what is there to enjoy, you can find that which you like, and still have fun, it doesn't hurt to let go of attachments sometimes, be free my friend, don't be down in spirit Edit: There are times when being resolute, inflexible, and uncompromising are the way to go, and there are times to let go, and move with the current, but if something absolutely is not sitting well with you, and 100% doesn't feel right for you, then don't do it, but if it's a small thing, and you can let it go of it with no harm, then you can go that route, whatever works for you I may see something wrong, doesn't mean I am okay with it, but it's out of my hand, and power to change, I just move on
