The PvP side isn’t forced. There are lots of options to play Lawless Frontier without any invaders.
A 1v4 in Gambit is pretty well balanced, IMO. A team that works well together should squash an invader pretty quickly. The chaotic element is what helps invaders - teams get disorganised or distracted.
I quickly got bored of Lawless Frontier invasions, but I thought it was a similar scenario there.

Additionally it’s also part of a quest line. So it’s a forced aspect in reality. I agree if you ever have a full team who are communicating then it would be easier, however how often is that the case? Most times it’s with randoms and people not on mics.

Oh btw if you set it to expert you can't get invaded.

I only solo que and nocom it's not so bad in my experience so far... as time goes players will get more familiar with things... hopefully... Everyone forgets there's a learning curve... Not everyone has played the game for years demanding perfection from the team on an activity that is matchmade is unrealistic... Be flexible and try to work at your teans pace it might be inconvenient but it's important for success...

Not sure about the quest line, but I know you can lower the difficulty on priority contracts to expert and complete them with no invaders. Lots of people play without mics, including me. You keep an eye on what your teammates are doing and position yourself accordingly.
