I'm still mulling it over... I'm probably going to rewatch it again, my thoughts haven't fully compiled yet. There is definitely one thing I did immediately have a major problem with, even my family which is far less critical also noticed and took an issue with, I'll put it in spoiler.
Just how unapologetically kill happy Hopper and El were. It got so bad as to kill an unarmed scientist which was the breaking point for everyone I was watching it with.
Seconding the spoilers, that threw me for a loop, too.
There's a lot more murder than I was anticipating, or necessarily comfortable with. It did seem out of character for our characters, or out of character for Hopper at least.
Still, I'm generally liking the new direction, spoilers notwithstanding, it feels like a break from the formula we've been watching for the previous four seasons.
But yeah, I could have done with our heroes doing a bit less murder.

You had a problem with them killing corrupt scientists and soldiers that wanted to experiment on children?

Are they corrupt? Isn't it a sector of the U.S Government? They're definitely antagonistic but totally evil where KOS is okay, I disagree with. I feel like there were ways to 'kill' where it didn't make the protagonists so blood hungry. Like having the bad guys shoot first and such. Or having the scientist trigger the traps instead so there is some justification but killing an unarmed scientist... I don't know how you can justify it with the current information they had
