It was a great game and I played more than most. I am done, Bungie went cheap with management and developers. The game could be great but not with the people that are currently supporting it. Good on Bungie in swindling Sony out of 3.5 billion they ripped them off.

My guess is that the overpriced purchase was a knee-jerk reaction to Microsoft buying up big companies like Bethesda and Activision. They went in and offered way too much before Microsoft could reacquire the company that made their biggest franchise. Allegedly Bungle weren't one of the companies Microsoft wanted after all. Whoopsie. That said, I have no doubt they have made that money back with expansions and Eververse.

False mainly. Microsoft nearly bought bungie for 2b, bungie even moved the Xbox login to the top of their login screen. Got very near sealing the desk but last minute financial checks showed it was a complete no go & they pulled out. Soon after bungie went to Sony & Sony somehow agreed to pay 2.2b, plus 1.6b in staff retention. I believe Microsoft were not paying staff retention either, its a mentality of work, or leave, nothing changes. It was inpart Sony panicking over ms buying everything - but also eyes bigger than their belly greed, thinking bungies model could be copied into 12 PSN games & simply make x12 destiny money. There's only so many gamers willing to play live service, & keep paying & it was never going to work. When a company like MS walk away, you know there's something wrong. Should have taken the hint & destiny & bungie would have ended 2-3 years ago.

Anyone who plays destiny could have told them bungies live service model blows & wouldnt work anywhere else. People play destiny because it feels amazing to play, gunplay & movement are fantastic - people still played en masse in destiny 1 with tiny dlcs & 6 month droughts, it's the game that people enjoyed, not their live service. Log in every Tuesday for a cutscene, or run the same mission with different dialogue 6 weeks in a row. Even that was being watered down year on year until it's now just a battle pass - & it's the same price lol. They've slowly turned the water up in the pan & boiled the crab here havent they. Paying more, for less = bigger revenue.
