First of all, let me be clear: I am not against this idea at all. It is actually a decent attempt to heal the injuries caused by that butchering they called “sun-setting”.
Still, if this is going to be thing, I wished that Bungie at least had the decency of also updating the power limit of the copies we currently own. Seriously, nobody likes to waste their time grinding for a god-roll that they already have.

Stop letting Bungie abuse you. Quit this trash game and play something else.
-
When sunsetting first happened. O had said that they would end up reissuing the old gear to be re earned by us. Here we are.
-
Sorry there is no excuse for sunsetting so do not defend it cause it was done in destiny 1 and it wasn’t acceptable then. Reissuing was also done in destiny 1 and it was half ass accepted cause hat was reissued was mainly all the old raid weapons, armors and exotics while doing the same with some other weapons and armors but that was way after the fact. But do not sit there an say either idea was good when they weren’t. A promise made along time ago was that bungie the developer did not want players to feel or think any of there gear is useless or doesn’t have a place in there setups. An guess what happened. There are to many players who still feel that to this day including me where we are tired of being lied to and we want bungie to stick to there end of the deal that they have constantly backed out on. Many players do not want to keep investing time into a game where they ah e to constantly recollect gear that they have spent years getting use to and finally getting just them to be rendered useless in the long run. In a slap and spit in the face of all the fan base and any attempts to defend bungie decision should be denied when they turn up. So no do not defend them in there two decisions that were a slap in the face to the destiny player base.
-
First, you should not be ok with Bungie doing the bare minimum with regards to the reissue of old gear. Players in this game should hold Bungie to a higher standard. Secondly, Bungie has been very clear by the lack of effort they put in their game they only plan to do the bare minimum to get that seasonal $10 dollars. EVERYTHING in this game is designed to make you play longer and Bungie has ZERO respect for players time. They don’t even provide fresh content. Just more strikes and more gambit.
It is actually a decent attempt to heal the injuries caused by that butchering they called “sun-setting”.
Decent attempt? Are you for real? That's why Bungie always get away with deceiving this community, there's always people that minimize the wrongs they did and even praise them when they "revert" them, AFTER the damage's been done. This is NOT a decent attempt at all. A decent attempt would be completely reverting sunset by letting us go back to use our God rolled weapons we had. What they are doing now is reissuing the same weapons but with weaker perks. It's the final part of the deceive. Why? Because sunset was never done to be permanent, it was a premeditated move by Bungie to remove our best weapons from our hands and then call it "an error" after that was achieved. Bungie don't deserve any praise or even any respect in this situation.

Edited by BC1 Edge: 6/25/2021 5:52:47 AMWe’ve set the bar so low cause that’s what we expect from bungie that people are happy and thank bungie for reissuing old gear.
-
This is just such a joke now. This game has fallen so low that giving back what was already available is seen as a positive.
-
Many people pointed out that Bungie would pull this crap literally the day they announced sunsetting. I'm calling it now, soon enough we'll have spare rations in the world loot pool and we'll be grinding nightfalls for longbow synthesis and TDYK. Bungie created a problem so they could sell you the solution, now they'll pat themselves on the back and say "see, we're listening."
-
The moment Bungie floated the concept of Sunsetting, we called this. Now the morons who couldn't see it have shifted the goal posts. Except we have the same problems we had with it 17 months ago before it was in the game.
-
Oh look at that, it's the stage of bargaining! Have fun with that!
-
I also agree they should introduce sunrise - on a side note reissue is not to bad with the new perks added to the table some players god rolls might change
-
Sun setting only happened because they want to drip feed you content back for more money. Everyone has paid for seasons and activities that you can’t play. What sort of company makes you buy a product only for them to take it away a year later without giving a refund of give you something of equivalent value
-
Actually, since grinding is the only fun thing left in the game, even a re-grind is better than no grind.
-
I loved my Tigerspite and want it back!!!
-
Issue for me is....they are bringing back those fugly moon weapons. -blam!- that. I want my paradox back dammit!!!
-
Edited by WormChi: 6/27/2021 9:09:39 AMCompletely agree. I ran hundreds of lecterns. There’s no way I’m going back and doing them again. Especially when I have perfectly good ones with a stupid grey corner on them sitting in my vault. This is just a ploy to sell more Forsaken and Shadowkeep expansions to new light players.
-
Truth be known Bungie are nothing but Snake Oil salesmen. In short, a bunch of Shysters. Talk about suppression of free speech, how dare anyone question them on their 'charity' donations.....you know, the disparity between cost price of a toaster and the contribution from the sale of the said toaster to that charity. Something along the line of ' One for you.......twenty for me'. Destiny is truly a disgusting con of a game now.
-
We got some very good new weapons this season. The reissuing of these weapons is happening in the same season so it is more of a bonus plus they come with new perks. I love this game so I’m thankful for what I get. I don’t know if this game will be around much longer it seems like they are abandoning ship. There are a lot more issues/bugs with a lot of neglected weapons and activities. PVP is a flat out disgrace. I will enjoy it while I have it.

Edited by Olórin: 6/26/2021 12:11:31 PMI disagree with Bungies approach, to be honest with you, surely it would've been just as easy to reissue a (sunset) weapons Light Level than to go through the whole reissuing weapons with updated perks. The more i think about it, the more I feel like Bungie got what they wanted from reissued weapons. Like, instead of just boosting a sunset weapons Light Level, they got players to regrind for the same thing twice. Isn't that what they technically wanted to do in the first place, sunset gear to add 'new' gear, only difference is that lazy Bungie just replaced sunset gear with an exact replica but with different perks, Wowee! Would've been better if they just boosted the Light Level on gear that had been Sunset with the addition of reissues and new perks. Pro sunset players wanted this, yet dont realise Bungie will only reuse assets to sell back to us. Since November we've gained like what, close to 40 new weapons but still feeling the loss of hundreds being sunset. Reissuing weapons isn't what was needed, the reversal of sunsetting completely would've been better. If it was Pinnacle weapons (Mountaintop, Recluse, Revoker, etc) they wanted to get rid of then fine, just tie a Pinnacle to one seasons Light Level, sort of like how seasonal mods are, at the end of the season they expire.
-
To be fair. Dreaming city and moon weapons shoulda never been sunset in the first place
-
This^^
-
Its frustrating for me, and another reason for me not to come back. It just shows that they really screwed the pooch when they forced sunsetting into the game despite the community telling them not to do it and are trying to walk back on that decision without actually doing so.
-
Next time can Bungie just come out and say “ Revoker, Mountain Top, and Recluse are to powerful. They will specifically get sunset next season”. Instead of destroying all gear when those were CLEARLY the targets.
-
It all depends on what we get. If they have shuffled mods to make them different and viable, Its a good thing. If there are no changes to the weapons at all, its a waste of time.
-
Bungie want you to regrind for old gear, they get extra player time without further cost to themselves. It's why sunsetting was done to begin with, not because of "power creep" which has provenly never existed in destiny, buniges original goal with sunsetting was to make players lose thier gear yearly
