Do you weather affecting future patrol maps like on Europa? Or does it just annoy you?
-
They already said that this is why they temporarily removed mars and mercury and io. To update them.
-
I actually wish it had a greater affect. imo the storms are too short and do not affect combat enough. Like there's thermal scopes in the game, but you don't need them at all, and the wind should be more oppressive affecting things like grenades thrown and moving you if you jump in the air.

Please anything interesting!
-
Europa made me think of Lost Planet lol
-
Nah, it's just gimmicky nonsense.

Edited by Wintermute 2050: 6/15/2021 7:55:25 AMIt was nice to see this change when Beyond Light launched, but then it became annoying. I rarely visit Europa anymore because of the extreme weather.

I personally like it when the maps get more alive, though I don’t want it to be like Monster Hunter: World at Hoarfrost Reach, where you have to use an item every 5 minutes just so you can sprint or perform attacks. If an armor set slightly decreased the effect the environment has on you that’s fine. For example, if the Cristocrene armor had a mod that made the wind not blow you around as much and the storms slightly easier to see through, that’s cool and makes it more realistic than that’s cool, I just want to still be able to bring the same loadout to the map as I would any other.

Edited by zmach1: 6/15/2021 11:33:05 AMNope. Not a fan. Unless you have specific armor or armor mods that help negate the effect. Can’t imagine we would have gone to Europa and not figured out some goggles/helmets or mods to give us some visual advantage when the snow kicks up too much.

Cool idea, terrible execution. It could’ve been better implemented. For example players and enemies moving slower, screen at the edge becomes icy and making players take damage when out for too long. Of course to remove the annoyance of being in a blizzard, applying an ornament or the actual armor designed for blizzards would completely negate the slow movements and other visual negative effects. It would just make it more immersive which is always welcomed.

Weather? Sure. Anything that pushes, slows, blinds, or otherwise hinders us as players? Not interested. It's one of the reasons why I don't spend much time in Europa.

Edited by ABackSeatDriver: 6/14/2021 1:35:30 PMNessus: wind storms Periodic strong winds pick up and effects all airborne things; grenades, sparrows, jumping. Moon: night is extra dark When the sun goes down things get real dark. Not to the point of total blackout, but enough to make things just that much harder to see. Rat King suggested: dark enough that our ghosts have to light the way. EDZ: thunderstorms The sky dims and thunder cracks with heavy rain coming down. Visibility would be reduced with periodic flashes from lighting. More dramatic looking at night. Cosmodrom: snow flurries Wind picks up with snow whirling around. Reduces visibility. Tangled Shore: dust storms It's a bunch of rocks floating in space with clouds of dust blowing through. Bl suggested: meteor showers along with the dust storms. Dreaming City: fog Fog has a height limit. The main building is sitting above the fog with everything else below, from that point, is shrouded in fog.

More annoyances in the game...fantastic lol
-
*slams fists on table* GIVE ME THE PURPLE RAIN ON THE DREAMING CITY BUNGIE!!!
-
All planets should have something, dust storms , heavy rain, something
-
I like it, obviously we wouldn't get the same wind effect on other patrol spaces but for Europa it works Honestly I kinda wish it happened a smidge more frequently, I can't remember the last time I saw a snow storm on Europa
-
When Old Chicago comes, I'd like to see torrential rain with lightning. The lore sets OC up to be the perfect place for some horror elements and Festival of the Lost.
-
Having weather on maps gives the map a more realistic touch to it. Every little detail could make alot of cool stuff happen
-
Or not were at war with the cabal?
someone clever enough will see what I did there
-
Annoying as hell sparrow slowing down
-
The weather on Europa is the coolest map dynamic we’ve seen in D2. If they can make more living maps like that it would be amazing.
-
it may be nice to get some rain, but .....
-
I don’t care
-
Sandstorms or something
-
Guardian,Archon Of Light
Blade Of The Traveler - old
I want lightning that can possibly strike you or the enemies -
Well the sparrow getting blown about part can be annoying at times, but it can also be hilarious! If anything, I'd say get rid of the gentler breeze, and when a storm is active just throw in the occasion MASSIVE gust of wind.
Do you weather affecting the map like on Europa? Or does it just annoy you?
You mean destination maps, right? If you mean in pvp maps, that’s a no from me. The patrol area’s are dope though.
