for crying out loud, realize what you can and can't do and don't expect a free ride reward for what you can't do. the game is a whole, things will require aspects you may not like, or be good at. that has nothing to do with you the individual, but the game as a whole.
so what you're 51? lots of players are older, including myself. crying over it like a child doesn't fit your age. who are you humiliated and degraded to? you're in your own home, unless your family is screen watching and taunting you for your performance, get out of your feelings and just do it.

What a d!ck, it was bad enough doing the 6v6 jotunn excersise for the weekly seasonal triumph, I'm not quite as old but just hate crucible ever since stasis came along and ruined it, sick of being forced to play pvp for catalyst when luke the lyar Smith said they would be Introducing ways for people to get things by playing what they prefer whether it be pve or pvp

Nope. Crucible is an objectively bad PvP experience for the worst PvP players in gaming. Period. It’s bad. If you take pride in your performance in crucible, it’s because you require crutch weapons to be successful, and you’re not talented enough to hack it in any real PvP game.

Who said anything about pride? The requirement is the same for all, if a person lacks the ability it's not an issue of the game.. How is that difficult to understand? How did you get to pride and crutch weapons? I swear people can neither read nor think on here.

Because we're not asking for a free handout; we're just asking for a route that doesn't involve PvP. It's blatantly obvious that Bungle are just trying to prop up a dying game mode, and whilst Ticuu's was a pain in the -blam!-ing arse, at least it worked beyond shotgun range..... And other teams at Bungle working on D2 have CLEARLY learnt this lesson, becuase Stasis Fragments and Synth materials have MULTIPLE ways to get them, but the Exotics and Catalysts team seem to be stuck in some past where they had no real idea what the game was to become.

No irony. No empathy needed . A man of 51 years of age should not be crying over their lack of ability to reach goals in a game. A man of 51 years played games from a tougher time where skill meant doing it or not. A man of 51 years should not feel embarrassed by strangers he's never spoken to who kicked his ass. Honestly you fools who want to "set me straight " are the childish ones.

PvP is not the only test of skill this game has, and there are different types of skill. I can guarantee, if you go into a GM Nightfall and play that like you would Elimination/Survival, you WILL NOT finish it. But for some reason, you seem to think that it doesn't need skill to get through something where the redbars 2-tap you with limited revives, but just running at someone with a shotgun and hoping they react too slow is. You can certainly brute-force your way through PvP kills far easier than brute-forcing your way through a GM; maybe if you want Catalysts to be a true test of skill they should require GM bosses or solo Master Lost Sectors? To be clear, I am not advocating that they be switched to this either; I think there should be ways to complete every Catalyst that can be fully achieved in PVE or PvP. You're saying a 51 year old man shouldn't be complaining about not being able to do it; my counterargument is he's probably one of the better ones to do so, because he most likely works full time and has to balance his free time with work and family. I'm a PhD student, I certainly have more free time than him, so I can waste more time brute-forcing things I don't find easy and/or fun (I find GMs fun, but I don't find them all easy, and that's ok). Of the many things I can guarantee you, you do NOT want a game that has lost all its casual players; they tend to very shortly die because they aren't worth the development time and cost for the few hardcore players they have. And, just because I feel like it; you're calling people childish for telling you to consider other peoples' points of view; not accept them, just consider them, and you can't even be -blam!-ed to do that.... You're not (just) childish, you're pathetic.

He clearly stated his inability to do it, not a time constraint. Neither is a issue of the game. The average player never does a GM nightfall, yet everyone can do pvp according to their skill.

I can definitely say I had more fun repeatedly bashing my Warlock's head against PUG GM Insight Terminus for 8 hours to get a Title than I have had doing either Ticuu's or Cryothesia's Catalyst PvP steps for 1/8th the time, and your earlier replies made it look like you want skill to be a requirement for Catalysts, so I, and by the sound of it, you, would certainly be happier if Bungle locked stuff behind Pinnacle activites like GMs or Raids.

All of that education and this is the amount of thought you can achieve? Ask for a refund. ... If the guy can't even do pvp, he won't in his words have the reflexes or abilities to do a GM. A small amount of thought would see that is a far worse option. A bit more thought would be if you lack the skills to get the rewards you want, accept it not think, again in his words, he should be catered to. Just because a reward is in the game doesn't mean anyone is owed it. If you can't do it, that's a personal issue only. Has nothing to do with Bungie or Destiny.. So don't hurt yourself falling from your high horse....

See, the difference here is, I don't believe he should actually have to do GMs to get Catalysts; I was just using that as an example to show you how ridiculous anyone using the 'git gud' argument sounds. My education is in organic chemistry and biochemistry, not arguing (those with a PhD in that like to call themselves 'philosophers'), but thanks to it being lab-based, I have a fair amount of free time compared to the working man, which was my only real point in bringing it up. Rewards in games are a very interesting thing though. Most successful games have cosmetic rewards for various difficult tasks so as to confer bragging rights; 'I have done every challenge of DSC, and so I can use this Title' etc. What very few games do is lock general gameplay features behind specific things. There may be a very nioe hand cannon locked behind Trials, but there's an almost identical hand cannon from Nightfalls. And what no game other than D2 does is make you use a weapon in a mode where it will be useless.
