The D2 App is eating my gear.

Over the last 3 days, when I've gone to transfer weapons from one character to another, it takes a while to load, then says the item cannot be found. I can't find the gear anywhere after this, it's not on any characters or in my vault. Bungie, if there's a way to fix this please get me my weapons back. Alternatively, please give me something with a high enough Light Level to make up for losing my best gear.

    Gear is not lost. It’s on either the original character holding the item, the one you intended to transfer to, or the vault. Way a transfer works is it takes the item, transfers to vault, then transfers to your character.
