WARLOCKS NEED LOVE - Crucible

Happy holidays l!!! No flame wars...... and fun post with personal opinions. I’m CERTAINLY not saying warlocks are bad or the whole “handheld nova” makes the whole class great. But warlocks need love in pvp. Titans are still amazing and well hunters are just the best class for crucible in general. Even after three nerfs the eye mask is still amazing and highly viable in high level comp. the strongest part (tracking) is still for tracer good and health is amazing for getting a kill and using kill clip. [b]Warlocks need some love for the crucible!!! [/b] Titans get a OHK on three subclasses and personally feel this needs to be toned down. Unpopular as it sounds I’m not proposing going back to D2 launch (and the usual rhetoric that comes with asking for such stuff) Now hunters have a one hit throwing knife it gets insane higher up with OHK moves. Either way......back to the point. Warlocks need love in pvp. Their exotics and their abilities. Playing the hunter is so much easier and after a certain point comp is so much better with the hunter exotics and invis dodge ect. ~~~EDIT ~~~ I play console so don’t have the luxury of button mapping ect ect. I play “tactical” button layout so I can dodge and keep aiming (no mouse/ keyboard) which is obviously better. It’s double click the right thumb stick (the aiming stick) which makes a lot more sense for fusions, side arms and shotguns been able to dodge and aim simultaneously. But jumping with A button and trying to double click the stick is clumsy and ineffective for the warlock in general. It can’t be utilized in the Same way. EVEN using A to jump and then B, B is time consuming and removes your aim for the time taken to get shotgun scrubbed or a mindbenders up the @#$” ~~~~~~ I ended up in a 3 vs 1 and still managed to take two rounds after my scrub mates quit on the hunter. Snipe shots into a dodge makes the class unbeatable and even getting away using the bunny hop jump or dodge is SO much better. I would NEVER have been able to pull anything like that off as the warlock and while I know the trans steps are amazing...... doesn’t make the whole class viable by just using a D1 exotic. The top tree works were amazing but needs refinement. You should be able to use a SINGLE dodge activation from the ground and dash like a hunter dodge...... in air the 2 x is nice but dam. These top level snipers are duck hunters! Can you say Revoker? It’s to floaty and takes to long to jump and maneuver even using the amazing top tree dash. They need to rework the air accuracy on that class and buff the dash to work on the ground. The float jump into a dash isn’t as effective as it needs to be. While these are opinions - get onboard for class balance and buffs. Hunter dominance is amazing but let’s get the WARLOCK some love!? Mature thoughts and holiday PEEEEEEEEEACE

  • Only thing needing a change in pvp (and even in pve) right now for warlock’s is nova warp. I think that all its previous nerfs except for the armor nerf that effected all supers should be removed and instead only give it a range nerf like it should have had in the first place. Other than that warlock’s are fine. The melee is slightly slower but unless you’re trying to kill someone melee only and you both hit at the exact time with no latency issues (pretty much impossible) then you will never really notice it.

          I 100% agree. No one cares about Warlocks. Lowest numbers in PvP because everyone knows Warlocks are the worst class in PvP. And of course no one is interested in Warlocks being better because it makes their hunter/titan lives easier. So we have a minority of players no one cares about and is actively repressed by other classes. And that results in Bungie somehow continually destroying good things Warlocks have.

                • Buff melee speed, buff vortex nova bomb, buff nova warp (just give it its speed /charge time back, armor stays the same). And buff some of the extremely lackluster exotics we have. (Chaos reach could do with a bigger hitbox or have the laser stream animation toned down a little).

                          It's an argument that's always going to get bullshit responses from Hunter and Titan mains. You're absolutely correct though. Also with Titans, 2 Solar Subclasses have OHK abilities because the Throwing hammers can OHK now and 2 Arc Subclasses have OHK abilities because Ballistic Slam also is an OHK. So Titans have OHK abilities on 5 of 9 Subclasses. Hunters have the OHK Throwing Knife and while not OHK, Arc Hunters have Tempest Strike on one subclass that is a very good offensive ability. Hunters also have Dodge which is easily the best class ability in the game between Dodge, Barricade and Rift which is by far the worst. So yeah, players can argue against your post all they want, but it doesn't change that you are 100% correct. Warlocks have HHS.

                          • Hey. You... yeah you. Are you sick and tired of warlocks underperforming in the crucible? FIGHT BACK YA COWARD. Whip on your Monte Carlo, claws of ahamkara and top tree dawnblade and melt people from range with your flaming tracking flames of death. Every kill with Monte carlo has a chance to return full melee energy. The more kills with monte = the more kills with jotunn melee

                              I main warlock and top tree dawn blade is strong, melee incredible and paired with sun bracers you get instant grenades on melee kills and with matyr grenade launcher you can range your oppenent who likes to shotgun rush

                              • Icarus dash can be used on the ground. Get good and learn to short hop and then use dash. You don't have to be 100 feet in the air to use icarus dash.

                                  I would say playing voidlock with 100 discipline and handheld supernova , a good lane weapon and a backup shotty is just as powerful in crucible as any build hunters and titans have. It’s insta kill if they try to rush and you also control the midrange where shotguns and ohk melees are useless.

                                      I can’t believe people on these forums say that hunters complain about their class the most when all I’m seeing is warlocks just cryin about their class. Imo all the classes are fairly balanced and the only thing warlocks need is to have their melee speed equal to hunters and titans.

                                      • I really don’t think warlocks need a buff. I split my time as equally as I can to avoid picking favourites but warlock is definitely my favourite for crucible. Hunter is good but feels very one dimensional and bland; a lot of jumping and thats about it. I like warlock because theres a lot you can do on it in terms of builds, like making a nova warp build with a lot of strength and discipline and no intellect or playing around with middle stormcaller. Top dawn is really cool now and actually surprisingly useful. When I have to try I use top storm which I think is a very strong all around subclass because of arc web as well as a pretty strong super. Nova warp is also very good but in comp sometimes you are better off using a subclass with a super. Additionally ever since season of dawn the res/rec/mob stats now also correlate with class ability regen depending on your class; warlocks get faster cooldown from recovery, titans from resilience and hunters from mobility. Recovery is definitely the best and most practical choice between the three and warlocks have it as their class ability cooldown trait which is nice. I overall just do not at all see the problem people have with warlocks. Or hunters or titans for that matter. I like playing all three and don’t find any one easier or more competent than the other. I will concede that the melee range is too slow, but thats all I have.

                                      • The issue isnt that the class needs love, its that crucible needs love aside from a few things that are unbalanced (melee speed for example) there is no difference between each class in crucible on a level playing field. The issue is that the current state of the game prioritizes a fast ttk, which means you are running anything that can one shot with relative ease/prevent from getting one shot.

                                      • The difference between Warlocks and Titans are both are limited in crucible, but only Warlocks constantly complain.
