I've Got a Bad Feeling About the Weighted Throwing Knife

Hunters are already the leading class in Crucible, and that can be proven with raw numbers on the Crucible icon that shows how many of each class you've defeated in Crucible. That alone tells me that the abilities Hunters have (paired with the exotics they get) are preferable to most people. Hunters are already strong enough in PvP. At this point, I don't know why Shaxx, a Titan, is still the Crucible master.

At this point, I don't know why Shaxx, a Titan, is still the Crucible master.
I play as a Warlock. I technically also have a Titan and Hunter, but I have barely played as either recently and I almost never take them into PvP content... That said I’m here to defend this OHK throwing knife idea. The OHK throwing knife is not being given to all Hunter subclasses. It’s not even being given to all trees of the Hunter solar subclass. It is being given to a single tree of a single subclass: a subclass tree that is currently underrepresented in both PvE and PvP activities. In order to use the OHK throwing knife, a Hunter will have to play a tree without access to the following abilities: Spectral Blades, either of the Tether supers, Blade Barrage, Six-Shot Golden Gun, any of their Arc supers, Invisibility, Smoke Bombs, their Arc Uppercut, any of their Arc or Void grenades They also won’t be benefiting from the exotic armors that specifically buff those abilities if they use the OHK knife. The tree that’s getting buffed may turn out really strong and we’ll see a large shift in Hunters moving to it, while moving away from their other supers and abilities (followed, perhaps, by a nerf if it turns out way too strong). It might turn out to still be underpowered and Hunters will continue using their subclasses that don’t have a OHK. Or perhaps it will be somewhere in the middle and only some Hunters will adopt it as their go-to setup. None of these three scenarios describe a situation in which any of the eight other Hunter subclass trees will see a boost in power or effectiveness. This change is meant to increase the diversity of Hunter play styles being used. And really we should all want a range of viable options, both in and out of PvP, for all three classes.
