General Feedback Desteny 2

General Feedback Desteny 2 This feedback will be long and in bullet point. I will focus on aspects I believe could use improvement only. This is my perspective, however, I encourage you all to add your own whatever it may be. SOUND - Nearby enemy footsteps in PvP need to be much louder and easier to pinpoint. WHY? This will help newer players establish a game sense and reduce the overreliance on radar. - Enemy roaming Supers in PvP need to be much louder and easier to pinpoint at all times. WHY? It will reduce the power of supers while not changing any stats. - Powerful PvE one hit enemies (EX: Cyclops) need to have a clear audio cue before they shoot. WHY? It give the player time to react at any distance if he did not see the enemy spawn previously. To Elaborate: It is an overall good design philosophy to give players audio queues for a variety of things and Bungie does a fine job on most of them. A good example is a Cursed Thrall, Being a very threatening enemy with a potential one hit mechanic it emits a specific audio queue as it gets closer to the player giving him a warning of things to come. This is not the case on other enemies like the Cyclops who can spawn with almost no sound and shoots with a softly audible hum, often for very far away. This gives the player no time to react if he did not see the enemy charge up previously. This ideology is also applicable in PvP; the more threatening an enemy is, the more obvious his audio queue should be. This is already the case when a super is cast but following that, roaming supers emit very little sound letting them pray on unsuspecting players and I find that problematic. Example of a game with Exceptional sound design: Overwatch. MATCHMAKING - Every activity should have matchmaking and the host should chose if he wants to be matchmade. WHY? Destiny 2 does not have the necessary social infrastructure for non matchmade activities. To Elaborate: Other than clans, which you cannot filter from ingame tools, the players have no social recourse within the game to find party members for End Game activates unless they use third party tools like Discord or websites like destinylfg.net. Lacking such resources, Bungie should allow all players to be matchmade into any activities so long as they meet the prerequisite Levels. It should be up to the player to understand that Endgame activities will often be too difficult for unorganized teams but the option should be there until better social tools can be implemented into the game itself. I would even go as far as putting new players into automated clans that will auto fill their roster as some choose to leave. Example of a game with Exceptional social tools: Eve Online REWARDS - Every activity should have a progress bar that can be reset similar to Gambit and Crucible. WHY? Players need to feel like they are progressing towards a goal, that is not the case on all activities. - Every activity reset should reward pinnacle/HighStat gear provided you invest enough time into them. WHY? Players choosing to participate only in activities like PvP should have a valid rewards structure. To Elaborate: Activities need to provide rewards that have an impact on the end game. These do not need to be as frequently rewarded as would an actual endgame activity but leaving an avenue for players to partake in game modes of their choosing and provided them with a fixed goal and usefull reward can go a long way into increasing player retention and participation. BALANCE - Balance patches should be far more frequent and less impactfull. WHY? If a balancing issue is unresolved for too long the player base will lash out negatively. To Elaborate: Balancing is difficult, almost everyone is aware of that truth but Balance fixes should not take years. There will always be content released that is exploited or broken the important things is to react quickly. Small iterations on the problematic items and communication with your community can go a long way into sustaining your game on the long run and reducing player frustration. Example of a game with Exceptional balance: It does not exist I hope this was informative. I know there are more issues out there. I would love to hear about what you all think and what your experience has been on Destiny 2.
