About Nightmare Fanatic in new trailer

So, these enemies are supposed to be resurrected by whatever is beneath the Moon, with Fanatic appearing as one. I have taken into account its most likely a hallucination because it is only a shadow form and not fully formed like Nightmare Phogoth, so it could just be screwing with us. That aside, the Fanatic should still be alive, as he can resurrect himself as many times as he wants, and one of the Stolen Intelligence files say that he is still roaming the galaxy. I’m a little confused though, does this mean he’s dead or did they just retcon his resurrection ability?

I'm pretty sure the real Fanatic and nightmare Fanatic are 2 different beings. Real Fanatic is doing Fanatic things in the Tangled Shore, while the darkness on the moon created a clone of him to kill us. It would be interesting to see how the real Fanatic reacts to this...

  • From what I saw it seems you will first see a red/black “nightmare” outline and then they will solidify into the enemies. I think it’s more a manifestation of our greatest enemies and fears, and less of returning enemies we have to fight. The fanatic may be alive but he was uldrens right hand man so it’s pretty pstd having him back.

I have nightmares too and they make me say things like I don’t believe in Santa.

  • I think it’s just the idea that we are haunted by him, regardless of if he is alive or not
moons haunted
• They aren't resurrection's, in that same vidoc Bungie said that these nightmares take the form of traumatic moments/entities in a Guardians life Fikrul is still alive but him helping kill Cayde, sending monstrosities after us, and then forcing us to feel guilty for all the lives we've taken counts as a trauma.

      • <Similar to Nightmare Toland, he's just a copy of his body. Fikrul's technically dead, but has been resurrected multiple times due to the Dark Ether. Toland's technically dead, but his soul roams the Ascendant Plane freely.>
