Shadowkeep: A Savathun story. DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING.

Here are the things we’ll be talking about here. -Savathuns involvement in Shadowkeep -The irrelevancy of the Dreaming City and the Nightmares For context, here’s the evidence that this WILL be a Savathun story. This is taken from the second lore introduction page for Shadowkeep. “‘You will die like your brother before you’” -Eris (Brother is referring to Oryx) “Her words were twisted Half-Truths.” -Eris These are in response to the whispers from her dead raid team. Savathun has supposedly reanimated them with twisted dark magic. If this isn’t already evidence enough, there are also multiple mentions of the word trickery. So now that we know Savathun is involved in Shadowkeep, we can basically see the story. Savathun is reviving the hive, and it’s up to us to stop her. We team up with Eris to kill the nightmares and we win. Fine and good, right? There’s just one problem with this. Savathun is involved. Pro tip: if Savathun is EVER involved in ANYTHING, take it as falsity. I would like to propose an alternate take on this whole story: None of it is real, and none of it matters. I’m not just talking about Shadowkeep, I’m talking about the Dreaming City too. This is all to divert our attention from what Savathun is actually doing. Reviving her dead brother. I know EXACTLY what you’re thinking. ‘Isn’t death sacred to the hive? Why would they want to revive their dead god, if death is a ceremony for the hive?’ To answer that question, I’d like to ask another question. Why would the Hive set up an area in the dreaming city SPECIFICALLY with the purpose of reviving their troops and setting up a kill battery? Why would Savathun be reanimating Hive on the moon if death is sacred to them? It doesn’t add up. The core plots of TWO expansions don’t add up to the fundamental religion of the hive. We’ve seen in Shadowkeep that Crota has been revived. What’s stopping Savathun from doing the same to Oryx? Nothing. This is only a theory, so take this with a [grain] of salt. Remember, trust [nothing] involving Savathun.

  • <Savathun would never want to revive Oryx. Reviving Oryx would tear the Taken from her control, among other things. She's not an idiot, reviving Oryx is stupid. Plus, she didn't hesitate to kill him the first time, when he tried to make peace with the Ammonites. She plotted to kill him in his own Throne World (a permanent death) if he wasn't fast enough, too. She doesn't give a flying -blam!- about her siblings unless they serve a purpose, and Oryx has outlived his usefulness. Also the Dreaming City isn't a kill battery. Death is not sacred to Savathun's Hive, she openly accepted the Grasp of Nokris and Oryx was a strict king. It was he that believed in death of all things, she doesn't care.>
