8 Ball says...

The system is literally already set up, existed in D1, existed to some degree for a time in D2 and no matter how much people beg, Bungie will not put it back and will not address why. It's actually bewildering to me. It's like they're deliberately sabotaging their own game.

Edited by TheShadow-cali: 9/16/2019 1:14:01 PMAt this point, I don't think they would bring much life back to this game knowing how much the concept of this game changed for the worst. If more grind time and Tess is their priority as it has been for the last 6 months it only shows how things are about to get worse. Bungie isn't about making a game anymore to give that experience of a looter shooter. They're about what can we sell and with this new approach of creating the content of FOMO? This is just the beginning of it.
-
Weekly? What? It was whenever you liked in d1
-
Agreed, sadly removing things is soon to be the norm. I mean what about the hunter vanguard? We've had a year's worth of content since Caydes demise, is this not something that should have been at least hinted at?
-
They've gotten lazy when it comes to any of the vendors in the game I mean hell ikora is just useless now if they made the vendors like d1 then things would be awesome I loved having the factions in the tower the rank up system gave me something to work towards which I really enjoyed I loved the rank ups working my way to the weekly random rolled weapons I really wish they would bring them back and make all vendors rank up system with weekly random rolled weapons and armor that is actually worth chasing.
-
They should just combine D1 and D2 system. But that would be an actual improvement to the game so doubt it would happen.
-
NO. No no no no no, no... just No. Just bring back old fation system from D1.
-
Factions were executed stupidly. The idea insulates a competitive event between players/teams. That completely goes out the window because even the losing two teams are allowed to get the winning prize. It should be: >one pledge to a faction per account >winning faction is the only faction that gets the prize. Period, end of story, no exceptions. This participation trophy mentality is bs. If your faction lost, boo hoo. Get over it. Better luck next time.
-
They removed them because players thought they were trash for some reason.
-
Factions - 50000 silver per character per season
-
I can see them bring the factions back but only for a season or something. Terrible idea but hey, this is Bungie
-
D1 style factions? Hell yes! D2 faction rallies? Naaah
-
I felt like they had some much of this game figured out in D1 only to be tossed out the window in D2. Not only having factions and vendors, but stuff like raid revives, balancing of difficult content, etc.. I'm excited about some of the coming changes to the game but at the same time, I'm not holding my breath. I love the franchise but have to wonder who was in charge when all these decisions were made and why do we keep trying to make the game worse?
-
Its sad, factions weren't even that good in D1 and we have people asking for that vs the trash in D2. I mean that's such a low bar. Bungie never fleshed out the story and interaction of factions...just remove this trash feature in the game. Basic things could have been done to improve factions beyond D1 and weren't. Just some simple ideas that could be balanced further: -Make pledging count towards side story. Only story game I've seen where story line is so sparse with such a rich world -Have side quests revolve around taking power away from other factions and have those trigger world events for the week rewarding an acceptable reward or minor power boost for the week. -Have stat benefits to armor sets for different factions (like DO gets you faster grenade regens for your pledge) -Have faction guns get minor boost if they won for the week -vendors package changes weekly like they used to
-
Not going to happen Bungie do the bare minimum for dlc drops then during the seasons all their team resources goes to stocking eververse they just don't have the staff to improve anything else.
-
Considering a majority of the resources for shadowkeep went to eververse instead of gamewide vendor updates, no I don't think we will get the factions back despite near unanimous player feedback to bring them back.
-
for 10 dollars, you can for 3 months
-
From the little that I've heard the focus is on EV. If you remember we used to be able to purchase gear from vendors and that it changed every week.

You can grind the eververse faction for packages that give you stuff you have already got along time ago. Just has much fun right? -
I'd rather see them incorporate the factions into the overall story going forward somehow Why is Dead Orbit still trying to leave the system? What does FWC know about, well, the future and its coming war? Does New Monarchy still want to rule the city and its people with absolute rule? Hopefully in the future we will see some actual stories with these groups and not just be a source of re-skinned gear.
-
Like Trials, and Iron Banner.... D2 destroyed Factions.
-
Bungie won't respond to this unfortunately. This isn't a thread that praises them
-
Bungie invited a new catch phrase, “if it ain’t broke, fix it.” They removed the “don’t “
-
Maybe when BL4 comes out.
-
They should make Eververse a faction, that would be constantly updated and have good rolled stuff, no???
