ARMOR DESIGN - Bungie, You REALLY Need To "Up" Your Efforts!
I'm not a big fan of Warframe but I like their design choices. You can hate their armor design but you got to give it to the team for trying to create a universe with a unique look and feel.
Seriously, who at Bungie approves these insanely sloppy, unoriginal, disproportioned, unflattering, bulky, uninspired and unfinished designs? 90% are real actual eyesores!
Where is the Vision? Bulky shoulders, skirt variations, and a cape? That's just not enough.
In most cases, it seems like Bungies Designers completely ignore the shape of the human body. Oh, and adding asymmetric shapes is NOT design it's a "first thought" concept.
The funny thing is that Warframe's theme is vaguely based on ancient Japan and the guys at Digital Extremes are trying to come up with a futuristic vision of that design narrative. Bungie on the other hand just copy-pastes retro designs on us. "Camelot is a rather silly place..."
The preview on upcoming designs was seriously underwhelming. Bungie you really need to start fresh and do what you got to do. Maybe give a few new designers who actually have a vision a shot.

They had a really good aesthetic going in D1 with realistic, tactical looking gear, with each class having a unique take on it that defined them. Titan armor was heavy and clean and polished, presenting them as tough and heroic leaders. Hunter armor looked makeshift and constantly undergoing modifications, presenting them as resourceful survivalists. Warlock armor was mostly robes and simple cloth, presenting them as though they were more brain than brawn. In D2, Titans look like they are trying out for the high school football team, Hunters look like the lead skater for Oryx the Nightmare Daddy on Ice, and Warlocks look like they are late to the royal ball. Some of the armor designs improved, but they still carry some of those traits

Idk if this has to do with what you’re talking about, but I played my D1 hunter the other day and she looks SO much more like a female than my D2 hunter. I miss that. But I agree, I’ve been disappointed with mossy of the D2 armor minus the raid gear.

Especially the 'eye-sore' part. Both studios have done a tremendous job with their art design and direction, but that isn't to say either studio is exceptionally better than the other when it comes to that.
