#Refresh the vendors
*can't believe this is still getting upvotes XD
Eververse should not be the only part of the game that gets updates EVERY season, THIS IS WHY THE REMOVE EVERVERSE fiasco happened.
It happened because you have been shoveling all of this content into the eververse store. and frankly if you are planning on doing THE BEST OF YEAR 2 and having it just be a Clear cut shop next season, then you can have your art department stop reskinning the same sparrows,ships and shells over and over, and have them work on a vendor refresh.
all im saying is balance it out. Im not saying that eververse cannot be flashy im saying that the other armors should not be so unappealing so people have to go buy a set just to look decent.
They did a REALLY good job on the last wish raid weapons and the dreaming city stuff, the year 2 activity armors and weapons were spot on. so WHY break that stride you have been on when it comes to stuff like this. At least they were making progress by d2 y1 standards. but not really with iron banner armor imo, this next set is the first set that seems to be moving back to the d1 style, its plain but something new.
and if you are having trouble thinking of stuff think of a certain exotic from each class and then build off of that, Like the Hallow fire heart , make the titans some armor carved from molten magma that glows when they are using sunbreaker and have the cracks glow. you know stuff like that .
Im sorry but now all Im imagining is a titan in havel the rock esk armor with lava flowing off of it because of the volcanic heat of the hammers.
Edit : Also i would like to add that if they made it so that the coins were used as actual currency to purchase certain things from certain vendors, kind of like how the d1 vendors worked you can not only use them to level up but also to purchase things from sed vendor. That way people will have to earn there way to get to those items and then they can focus on what they want to get, kinda like the menagerie, only you got to go play strikes or crucible first or a leviathan raid first (as they are the only things that still use coins)
Same has been done for the planetary vendors but they haven't been updated in eons, however you can also divide it into three tiers like in d1 and give us a class item to give us more faction rewards related to that faction.
It would take a lot of work but people would enjoy everything a lot more especially if the weapons had a rotating roll on them .

4 RepliesEvery vendor should get refreshed each season. Gunsmith should offer one powerful reward each week through some kind of rework of D1s arms day. Vendor packages should allow us to choose between either a random armor or a random weapon. Each location should get new adventures.

Also i forgot to mention the fact that they want to make D2 an ever evolving world, Hence another reason why a vendor refresh would be good for the game.

1 ReplyAgreed. I dont mind eververse having really cool items as long there is a balance with in game currency and vendor items. Which right now there isnt. Eververse has the best items (cosmetically speaking) which CANT be bought with bright dust. Vendor items - lol D2Y1 amazing.....

Bring back (permanent) Faction Vendors in the Tower (complete with loot, armour/weaponry, shaders etc ....& special difficult bounties & general reputation earned whilst wearing the colours of that Faction (changeable every week) Then overhaul the Flashpoint (including Adventures & Lost Sectors (now all hidden & full of Saboteurs/Wanted/surprises etc), make everything on that location crazy difficult (Prestige min/above current light level....hide things on the planets, ghosts, scannable lore, quest map pieces ....make them both hard to find & bloody difficult to retrieve through combat....sometimes the goal is to distract whilst someone sneaks through to pick up intel etc)....bring back [b]that[/b] particular planets vendor, give them a fresh inventory & a chance of a Y3 freshly updated perk weapon (rare as in the Old Fashioned HC & even move the Nightfall weapons from Y1 into Y3 and make them Flashpoint rank rewards, with fresh new Nightfall weaponry in their place) between completing bounties for Faction & the Flashpoint vendor....earn reputation and credit towards that particular gear/weapon/armour)....note, it will take time/fireteam, graft & perseverance

Dual primaries, weak exotics, weak abilities, weak weapon archetypes, things that genuinely affected the feel and flow of gameplay didn't reach any level of attention as the eververse thing did that had spam threads across multiple pages But my ships that do nothing at all! 🤦♂️

If you never played Destiny 1 you don't know what it's like to get some piece of shit misc thing for a reward instead of fear that helps you level up. Shut it. If anything more gear needs to be made. As in more weapons and armor need to be made so the vendors can have something to sale. Instead of complaing why not ask for that instead of -blam!- about vendors not having a refreshed stock when all they sale is shit that should have been obtained already.

They won't update the other vendors or make cool looking armor that is free because they know it will be more likely to cause people to turn to the micro transactions vendor for cool looking loot. They want people to be dissatisfied just enough to keep playing while at the same time offering a solution to the player's dissatisfaction in the form of micro transactions. The other reason they probably won't reinstate D1 style vendors is because the loot pool is so tiny by comparison to D1 and they don't want people catching on to that fact. They want the most reward for the most minimal amount of effort because that is more cost effective. Bungle may not be as bad as companies like EA or 2K but the formula is all there.
