    Yes. Strikes should be revamped entirely. The current linear nature of them causes them to get old quick. Those should just be side quests. Strikes should instead actually utilize the planets and be a series of randomized encounters and objectives in randomized locations with 4 guardians, they scale for difficulty to participating player levels, and then there is a chance to make them go “heroic” where they would be increasingly difficult. An example: Four guardians are matched, the game chooses Nessus. Players land in The Tangle. Something has stirred the Fallen up. You fight off a couple of dropships worth of enemies and finally a yellow bar captain and his yellow bar servitor drop in. It’s like a mini boss battle and once defeated he drops something. A player scans it. They were tracking a local Vex mind. Players are directed toward Artifact’s Edge. They jump on their sparrows and race over there. Upon arriving they notice that that area on the plateau in the north section that looks like a Vex gate is in fact a Vex gate that is now open. A few come out. They are killed and the guardians enter. They come out in the area where Cayde was rescued during the main story to find a lot Vex. After the battle they continue tracking the mind. It directs them up the floating rocks off the cliff side. The Vex mind appears in the cave above. It’s a hydra. After taking a little damage if flees and puts up a barrier. The Vex producing it must be destroyed to progress. Once this is done players proceed through the cave system fighting Vex all long the way. They come out in the Exodus Black area of the map to find the Vex warring with the Fallen. Players must eliminate all enemy forces. The Fallen drop a walker. Once the walker and mind are destroyed the strike is over. There could be something to do in the final battle that could make it go heroic with an additional boss of an enemy type not normally seen on that planet. THIS is where unique legendary loot would be acquired instead of Nightfalls. Drop Nightfalls altogether. The same missions with cheap modifiers and no matchmaking is a lazy way to impose a challenging weekly activity. Sorry not sorry but this has always been a poor practice in my opinion. Especially arbitrarily excluding matchmaking from it. Makes no sense. Imagine if each planet had a bunch of encounters, objectives, and bosses, all themed to the enemies typically found on the planet, and they were randomized in different locations each time. Strikes could actually be fun for more than 2-3 runs before they feel tedious and are reduced to boss melting because Bungie doesn’t difficulty scale anything.

          • I'd rather have meaningful rewards added to strikes. Maybe a chance of getting powerful gear from the strike chest. Bring the strike loot to non nightfall strikes. Bring back heroic strikes and make them actually challenging. Maybe with some more punishing modifiers. I remember back in the day I said I would love being a god in strikes and mowing through everything like superman. But it's boring as hell. Also new strikes would be awesome too but if i had choice between these two I'd do what I said.

          • Stikes? You want strikes when we have all this great “end game” content? Lol. Lets face it...its cheaper for bungie to crap out free live event style content slap a some time gates or difficulty on it and brand it as “end game” than actually do their job, develop engaging replayable content, with worthy rewards and leveling mechanics. Dont buy the next season pass. Dont buy D3. Wait until around 3 months comeback to the forums if sounds good buy it. But under no circumstances pre order or buy day one.

              • Thing is, if they added more strikes, they would either have to make a completely new location like warden of nothing, or find some creative way to make a linear pathway out of the locations they already have. They might be able to figure something out on nessus or edz but thats it. And then they'd have to record a bunch of voice lines (in multiple languages) before they actually get to the important part: fun and unique encounters and bosses. I feel like this is a problem that can only be fixed in destiny 3. 1. Design locations from the start to be less like circles and more like webs. Tons of areas of varying scale with multiple pathways to get from point a to point b. This means that they could continue to make strikes with a location that they've already made along a route that they've already laid out. The only "new" content they would have to make are a boss, a boss room, and new voice lines. 2. Make strikes shorter. Have a few voice lines at the start and a few voice lines at the end. We don't need cringey jokes shoved in our ears while we're trying to shoot stuff. We don't need someone explaining every single mechanic like we're too dumb to figure it out ourselves. We don't need a huge distance to cover in between encounters (while we ride on sparrows, skip enemies, and ignore the pretty skybox) just to get to the boss. Focus on a cool boss and fun encounters. People will remember a good strike for the gameplay, not the big empty spaces and awful dialogue. I'm guessing for destiny 2 that they'll add a new location in year 3 and it'll come with one or two strikes and thats it :( I don't understand why we haven't gotten any pvp maps tho. Those would be nice too.

              • And fix the rotations! If I play three strikes on each character for a total of 9, chances are I will play maybe 5 different strikes- probably 4.

                They only have to do it like in D1, year 3. I still dont get why Devs remove stuff, which was great in the first game, in their second! I would love to play the old strikes again!

                  • If Bungie doesn't put in strike specific loot before adding in new strikes there will never be a reason to put out new ones. Once they've been run once there really is no incentive to do it again.
