Leveling to 700 with THE SAME CONTENT...I Cant
The drops are awful. The whole system is FUKED. Designed to keep you grinding THE SAME THING AGAIN AND AGAIN. God it pisses me off.
We play games for FUN. I dont think it's fun to level 50 points after ive done the raid and im 657, and Im getting 652 scout rifles after playing for a couple hours.

43 Scourge clears, no Anarchy. Underleveled stuff and duplicates dropping along with stuff I dont need dropping in slots that are already above the power of what dropped.
Its infuriating honestly. Im just not gonna play this if thats how it is. And I actually enjoy sweaty Gambit and Reckoning. But I will NOT do fukin flashpoints and Dreaming City bullshit [b][i][u]AGAIN[/u][/i][/b] to play new content. Ive done it 3 times now on multiple characters.

* Something else Ive thought of while reading all of the comments. Bungie says 'Reckoning is considered end game.' Fine. But if thats the case we have been at 'end game' with the current content since Forsaken launched. Just make all the bounties for Prime drop power level Gambit stuff that isnt duplicated and thats it. 3 weeks we will be just fine. But no. We have to go through the uber slog again. I can run some strikes, but I cannot do all that other crap for lower level gear on a chance......

They have somehow figured out a way to make the people that like Season of the Drifter hate Season of the Drifter. I'd be more pissed off about the leveling system if it wasnt so fascinating to me to watch a game developer stick its fingers in its ears and go lalalalalalala while its loyal fans throw rotten fruit at it. You cant even do the Bergusia forge with the shit that is dropping from the reckoning. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall at the meeting where this insanity was approved. And its not just casuals now its die hard players. Its basically everyone except the few people that always have to contradict everything just for the sake of it. There is just no defense of it at this point. The least they could do is have everything drop in the 650s at the lowest. I almost just have to laugh at this armor im getting for doing the reckoning over and over. Why would anyone do this? Cant even get any more helmets until I get to 670? I already play the game more than most people and its not enough I guess. I need to be given structure and guidance. I need to be forced to watch youtube videos. Top 2% total time played Ive earned the right to level quickly by doing whatever I want. And for what its worth I think the actual content is good too. But I cant for the life of me figure out how anyone's brain could have ever come up with this leveling system.

22 RepliesYou would think that after +4 years of running Destiny games, Bungie figured out what we like... Yet, they remove things we love (arms day, rotating vendors, joinable factions, rerollable exotic armor, regular exotic drops, different looking armor sets (hello year 1 armor and ornaments?), powerful weapons (Gjallarhorn, Icebreaker, anyone?), diverse content, et cetera) And add things we don't like (a long and tedious grind just for a higher number, ridiculously expensive infusion so we have to either go broke in game, or wear crap we don't like) In Destiny 1 you could play 100 strikes or 100 crucible matches in a row if you wanted to and still you were able to level up from post game drops. In D2 you have to run the daily and weekly milestones to level up. Also the activities you loathe. The frustrating part of this all is that D2 has the potential to be one best games ever made. Yet so much great content from D1 has just been thrown away completely. And who cares if there are people who 100% only want to play raids or 100% only want to play crucible? It would be so friggin easy to build the game in such a way that people can do that: Remove milestones power drops, Add power drops based on XP gained. Yet, to this day, this game forces PvE players into PvP and PvP players into PvE with a result that both player bases start to hate each other. You'd think they learn...

I get literally sick to my stomach thinking of having to grind another 50 levels. Especially when my first POWERFUL ENGRAM gave me a level 651 item. ONE point higher than my current level.

5 RepliesYou know you can level to 700 just playing gambit prime and the reckoning. They both have powerful daily/weekly rewards that grant higher power than other activities, don't they?

I only read the title but still, when black armory dropped and I had to grind the same old activities to be able to play the new content I was upsetty like spaghetti only to find out I have to do the same with drift-a-bitch I’ve been gone for almost two months with only small withdrawal symptoms

That's the problem when you have a system where you can reach max light by killing boars in the forrest... Change it back to how it was in D1 and the only way to reach max was by the raid or trials.

I personally never understand why anyone enjoys a grind. Doing the same chores over and over in the hopes for a reward is lame. Challenging activities with guaranteed rewards is way better

5 RepliesYeap I can’t do it either . I signed in went to the dreaming city spent a mi it’s there shooting the same shit in the same spot and then went to titan to start the flashpoint . Did one public event and shut it off . Said fk it . No sense in playing the same old shit to get that 700 power level again . I’m done - just can’t do it anymore. We’ll see Tuesday if there’s anything good . But it’s not looking good

I will let you in on a big secret. At some point they will probably change Power Level to something else entirely and you will be back at square one. Play the game if you enjoy it....otherwise....do not play. Its that simple.

3 RepliesI think Bungie needs to start letting some of the older content die now. We’ve played it to death. Had they set it up so that we could level to 700 just through Prime, Reckoning and added quests, I think more people would feel differently. Even though Gambit isn’t my favorite, at least it’s new. They need to finally do away with the time-gated milestone system and let people level up however they want. At least then we get to choose how we do it. I still like running strikes. But I detest doing the DC story missions. I’ve done them enough now. At least that sort of player choice would allow us to play what we want, level at the same time, and also let Bungie see what people simply don’t like playing anymore. Bungie seems afraid people will stop playing when they hit max level each season so they artificially extend it to try and keep people hooked. But I think more people are now so tired of how this progression system works they aren’t even going to attempt hitting max level anymore. We are quitting before we even start.

I did all the milestones and every gear was 2 light level under my current gear.... I was 650 before the new season and actually I’m at 653 with all milestones done for this week and every potential source where you can get a powerful gear :( I‘m a lil bit disappointed hope Bungie will fix this ASAP....

If Black Armory taught me anything, it's take your time and give no effs about leveling. I do agree going back doing the same ole' milestones for level progress is getting tiresome.
