I’ve made this video to demonstrate some of the capabilities of Dawnblade after they buffed it in patch 1.1.4
**BURST GLIDE**
The most drastic change is the speed buff to burst glide. During the super, the biggest challenge that Dawnblade faces is that its projectiles travel slowly. It can be very difficult to hit your target if your opponent is far away.
Since the burst guide got a speed buff, you should use it to close the gap on your opponent and throw your flaming blades from up close. I did this a lot in the video with great success. Don’t try to spam your blades from the air because you become a floating target. Try your best to stay grounded and only jump if you absolutely need to get aerial advantage on your opponent.
**PHOENIX DASH (ICARUS DASH)**
This is not an official Bungie term, but it is what I call it when I’m dashing during the super. Since the duration of the super was increased after patch 1.1.4, I can use the extra super energy to dodge my opponents while I’m in the air. It has saved me a lot when I’m low on health and have guardians shooting at me. If I’m playing mayhem and facing off against a gunslinger, they have an extremely hard time hitting me.
**LAST PERDITION**
I put this clip in for one specific reason: it is a great counter to Vigilance Wing.
Although Vigilance Wing has a possible ttk of 0.83 seconds, it’s weakness is that a guardian needs to fully commit to his shot and expose his complete body when shooting. Another weakness is that you need to hit 10/10 bullets to achieve this ttk, which can be difficult to do. Finally, it is slow and clunky.
The advantage that Last Perdition has over the VW is that you can strafe more easily within your shots and also PEEK SHOOT by using your cover. Notice in my clip I always stayed close to that rock so that I can use it as cover if I’m dueling an opponent. Also, look at my strafe when I’m killing the second opponent. This is more difficult to pull off with the VW.
Finally, the Last Perdition has a good handling stat, and it’s stability is the highest amongst all of the adaptive frame pulse rifles in the energy slot. I’ve masterworked mine for range.
**GRENADE LAUNCHERS**
I’ve already covered these launchers in my previous guides so I won’t go into detail, but they are simply amazing once you learn them. Their blast radius was buffed in patch 1.1.4. Here are the links to my guides:

**IF YOU WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE DAWNBLADE SUBCLASS**
Here is the guide I posted on reddit a few months ago, explaining how to unlock the full potential of Dawnblade. A lot of what I wrote still holds true:
https://www.reddit.com/r/CruciblePlaybook/comments/7gaox5/dawnblade_video_the_strongest_pvp_subclass/?st=JFYQ3JNP&sh=d4fbb97d
**FINAL NOTE**
There’s not much more to add except that this subclass is truly amazing to play in PvP now. The heat rises perk got buffed so that you get more ability energy when getting kills from the air. If you can learn to use this and Icarus dash together, you can accomplish some amazing things in the crucible.
I will probably be giving Dawnblade a break for now and moving back to the Hunter class to see what good changes came on that side.
Hope you all enjoyed!

Edited by WulfPak666: 4/18/2018 1:31:41 PMDawnblade is a fun class but I really really hate how using a jump in your super automatically catapults your ass into the damn ceiling. That shit gets annoying hella fast.

Sunsinger is the only solar powered warlock subclass I recognize
-
I love how everyone is only talking about the buff to burst glide so if Bungie sends around some nerfs, they won’t ruin strafe glide which is a definitely the best jump for warlocks
-
Did you make multiple in-air dashes when you were avoiding that first Gunslinger?
-
I don’t get these videos. The mod system is not complex enough to warrant making guides.
-
this using cover tatic you speak of only works when there isnt aim assist.
-
Cool as -blam!-!!!
-
Love your videos, arcstrider>dawnblade.
