Codename: Nova •Part 3: What Am I?•

Propira sat at the helm of her ship, flying us in the general direction where I had left my own. Like I had promised, I explained everything that had happened and that I remembered in the past 12 days I've been 'awake'. "This all seems very strange. You have zero clue who this other Exo is? How did you know to come to the Widow's Court?" Propira was very skeptical of the whole situation. She still did not completely trust Kekshi-0 at this point. "See, that's the strangest part. I can remember some locations, and bits of information like the names of certain races. When I saw the picture, my immediate thought was 'Widow's Court'. I can't explain it." Kekshi-0 explained. She then saw her ship on a nearby flat spot on the mountain, above the highway. "Down there. That's my ship." Propira started flying down. Once on the ground, Propira got out to look at Kekshi-0's ship. "It's not in terrible shape. It actually might be pretty new. This looks like a Texas Class Fighter Ship, which are capable of going close to light speed if they have a warp drive. And, hmmmm." She fumbles around with some hatches. "You for sure have one. This is surely an impressive vessel for you to have just woken up next to. You're lucky Fallen scum didn't steal it or ravage it for parts." "Fallen scum?" Kekshi-0's voice gained a higher pitch when asking about the Fallen. "What is a Fallen?" "Wow. You really are out of the loop. Okay, the Fallen are an alien race mostly known for being thieves of anything shiny or metallic they could use for their weird machines. Actually, they pretty much worship machines, and a decent amount of their armies are made up of machines. Most well known are the Servitors and Shanks. We know a little bit about them, but not as much as the Traveler. Legend says it was their God before it came to our system for us." Kekshi-0 fell to the dirt outside her ship almost the exact moment Propira mentioned the Traveler. She seemed to seep into some sort of dream. "Katie? Katie come on! Play with me! I'll hide and you try to find me after a couple minutes of counting, okay? Okay, go!" A little girl in a flowery dress with brown hair ran off into the backyard of a beautiful property with a quaint little house on it. Kekshi-0 wasn't either of the girls she saw (at least she didn't think she was), but was instead a spectator to the entire ordeal. "Ready or not, here I come Olivia! I'm gonna find you for sure!" The younger little girl, adorned with a red and white splattered dress and brown hair, ran into the backyard where the first had gone to hide. All of the sudden, there were machines everywhere. Small, blue, floating turrets with wings on their backs flew into the backyard and there were grand flashes of light, and sounds like Kekshi-0 had never heard. Or had she? She didn't know. Her spectral body tried to run and save the girls but she could not move. She saw purple and blue explosions and heard gunfire. She heard screams of machines and little girls. And then, it went black. Everything was gone. All but Kekshi-0 standing alone in the infinite darkness. "Kekshi? Kekshi are you alright? Epsilon, any change with her vitals?" "Yes actually. I think she is regaining consciousness." Kekshi-0 felt her body being tugged around and she opened her metal eyes to a worried Propira looking down at her with Epsilon by her head. "Wha- What happened?" Kekshi-0 had some sort of head ache. Was that possible for Exo's? "I was telling you about the Fallen and then you fell over. You were only out for a few minutes but damn, have I ever been more startled in my life!" Propira helped Kekshi-0 up and dusted her off. "Okay, how about I drive you in your ship and Epsilon pilots mine. That way you can rest and we can talk some more okay? Or you can just rest, whatever you want, okay?" Propira starts preparing for her idea before Kekshi-0 responds, meaning it didn't matter what her answer was going to be. "Okay, sounds good. Though I don't think I'm going to want to rest after what I just saw." Kekshi-0 responded as she stepped onto the mechanical ramp coming down from her ship so they could enter. "I don't even know how to explain it. It didn't make any sense." Wait, you saw something? Like a vision?" Propira stopped Kekshi-0 where they were standing and looked deep into her eyes. "Was it a memory? Was the Exo in it?" "No, no. It was two little human girls playing some ancient game. But then these small machines came out of no where and attacked. It was just some sort of weird nightmare." Propira let go and put her arm on Kekshi-0's shoulder. "Okay, well, on the way to the Last City, I'll tell you some of my life story, how's about that? That'll keep you awake and on the edge of your seat for sure!" Propira hustled her and her Exo friend onto the ship and prepared for takeoff. "Last City, here we come!" Propira announced as the took off. Kekshi-0 watched out the window, looking back at Widow's Court, marking in her mind her need to come back here some day. Listening to Propira starting to tell her stories, Kekshi-0 hoped this Last City had some sort of way of helping her answer the question that is her existence.
im so sorry I've been missing forever. Not that anyone was really missing me or this story but I just feel bad. More to come, I promise. I have thought up so much more for this story. Here's to many more parts.
